Abstract

The brake has at least one guide bolt 3 slidable in a bore 9 in caliper 1 or (or as shown) carrier member 2, the threaded end portion 29 being received in a slotted recess 15 in carrier member 2 or (as shown) caliper 1: a nut 22 clamps the guide bolt 3 but the position of the slot permits the caliper 1 to be moved (as shown pivoted about a bolt 4) relative to carrier member 2 after disengagement of the nut 22: the bolt 3 includes a torsion preventing mechanism comprising a square end 19 or key- bit-shaped component (28, Figures 3, 4) co-operable with a stop surface 8 to prevent rotation of the bolt when the nut is tightened after reassembly.
