Abstract
Coquilla o lingotera metálica partida para fundir palanquillas de acero o barras de otros metales o aleaciones, caracterizada por que puede ser de sección cuadrada, redonda, hexagonal, u otras, constando esencialmente de dos piezas metálicas de composición adecuada, aunque eventualmente podrá estar constituida también por tres o más piezas que al oponerse forman los huecos o canales que permiten fundir unas palanquillas de unos 1.200 milímetros de longitud y unos 40 Kg de peso cada una, efectuándose la unión de las dos mitades, mientras se cuela al metal, por medio de zunchos y cuñas o de grapas y cuñas o por medio de orejas (que tienen las mismas medias-coquillas metálicas), con grapas, bulones y cuñas o por medio de costillas, (que también tienen las mismas medias-coquillas metálicas), con tornillos y tuercas o grapas y cuñas o bulones y cuñas.
