DESCRIPTION

Field of the invention

The present invention relates to a composition for topical administration in the form of an ointment and to a manufacturing process of said composition, which comprises in its formulation as active principles, extract from elder flowers (Sambucus nigra L.) discarding the stems and bark, rosemary extract (Rosmarinus officinalis), incense, virgin beeswax and olive oil.

The present invention also relates to the use of the topical composition in the form of an ointment for the treatment of skin affected by burns, for irritation due to exposure to heat or cold, damage caused after radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments, chafing, different types of wounds caused by cuts or punctures, bedsores, sores, insect bites. The ointment described in the present invention is also applicable to the treatment of hemorrhoids, fistulas, underarms and genital stings, herpes, fungi, psoriasis, chicken pox, furunculosis, eczema, infected, unerosal grains, hardness and dryness of heels, hands and elbows , for skin hydration and wrinkle treatment. The ointment described in the present invention also has veterinary use in the treatment of wounds on the skin of animals.

Background of the invention

The skin is formed by three layers superimposed and separated from each other: the epidermis, the dermis and the hypodermis constituting the heaviest and widest living organ in the human body, the epidermis being the outermost layer.

The basic functions of the skin are three:

(a) protect the body from mechanical, chemical, physical and infection attacks by microorganism attacks;

(b) it constitutes a communication network between the body and the external environment thanks to an infinity of nerve endings that receive all kinds of external stimuli;

(c) It constitutes a selective barrier for the transport of substances into our body and the secretion of harmful substances through sweat, it also intervenes in the synthesis of vitamin D that plays a preponderant role for bone growth.

The epidermis is formed by four layers of cells: the basal layer (the deepest), the mucous layer, the granular layer and the corneal layer (the upper layer). The stratum corneum (EC) constitutes a flat and continuous film formed by keratin-rich cells (specialized proteins of the corneocyte shell) whose functions are basically mechanical and protective. After a while the EC constituent cells lose their vitality and die peeling off the skin in the form of scales by exfoliation.

In addition to keratins, the EC is made up of lipids, proteins, natural hydration factor, desmosomes (specialized adhesion structures) and enzymes.

EC lipids, among which ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids stand out, form a water permeable barrier.

The natural hydration factor is a mixture of amino acids, amino acid derivatives and specific salts that is only present in the EC and its hydrating role is due to the solubility and hygroscopicity of its components. Consequently, the natural hydration factor absorbs water from both the atmosphere and the inside of the skin, preventing abnormal flaking and cracking.

The correct functioning of the EC in maintaining the softness, elasticity and flexibility of the skin, depends on the harmonic interaction of the lipids, and the natural hydration factor and their concentrations.

Lack of hydration and various epidermal lesions such as burns, eczema, damage caused by psoriasis, etc., end up causing skin wounds exposing our body to the attack of external agents, such as microbial infections. For this reason it is vital to provide adequate skin care, to ensure that the first barrier that is EC remains healthy.

The state of the art shows various compositions intended for skin care, many of which include certain synthetic drugs that act to prevent the proliferation of microorganisms in lesions caused by burns and other skin conditions.

For example, Romanian Patent No. RO 92445 describes an ointment for the treatment of skin burns, composed of bismuth subnitrate, ichthyol, zinc oxide, camphor, Jecoris oil, vitamin A acetate, vitamin F, ascorbic acid, hydrocortisone acetate, neomycin sulfate, lanolin and petrolatum.

Russian Patent No. RU 2,085,204 refers to an oil-based balm for wound healing, comprising more than 0.33% camphor, more than 0.3% of a concentrated oil (50% peppermint oil and 50% of oils from other plants) and an extract of oil from different medicinal herbs, as a balancing agent.

The Spanish patent ES2187253 refers to an ointment for burns, herpes, eczema and other skin conditions, which consists of an ointment made from common ivy leaves (in particular male ivy), 100 g of male common ivy, 100 g of virgin wax, in a deciliter of olive oil.

The Spanish patent ES2186586 describes a medicinal ointment against psoriasis, which comprises in its formulation white nettle (Lamium albium), white horn (Marrubium vulgare), culantrillo (Adiantum capillus veneris), lavender (Lavandula officinalis), burdock (Arctium lappa), Frankincense, apple cider vinegar, beeswax, lard, horse fat, lamb tallow, sulfur and clay for topical use to relieve and eliminate the symptoms of the disease.

On the other hand, the Spanish patent ES2443816 refers to a composition for the treatment of dermatosis, specifically psoriasis, which contains chamomile, thyme, bay leaf, hops, millet, barley malt, brewer's yeast, willow, alhova (Trigonella foenum- graecum), salicaria (Lythrum salicaria); Hibiscus (Hibiscus), olive oil, honey, aloe vera, oat bran, chicory, coparchy (Coutarea latifolia), Stevia, wheat flour, cypress, beer malt, lanolin, elder, goldenrod (Solidago) Witch hazel; Comfrey (Prunella vulgaris), and St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum).

Description of the invention

The composition disclosed in the present invention comprises as active ingredients elderflower extract (Sambucus nigra L.) discarding the stems and bark, rosemary extract (Rosmarinus officinalis), incense, virgin beeswax and olive oil.

The beneficial effects for the human body of all the components of the described composition are known and their association according to the present invention allows complex and superior curative effects to be achieved, avoiding the use of synthetic chemical substances at times of difficult acquisition.

From the components mentioned above, a homogeneous mixture is obtained according to the following procedure:

a-) select elder flowers by discarding the stems and barks and weigh between 0.1 - 5 g of elder flowers (Sambucus nigra L.), between 0.1 - 5 g of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), between 1-50 g of incense and 180 g of virgin beeswax.

b-) pour 1 L of olive oil with no more than 1 ° of acidity into an appropriate container comprising a mechanical agitation medium, a thermometer, and a thermal exchange medium and then add the elder flowers, rosemary and heavy incense in stage a)

c-) maintain the previous mixture with continuous stirring until a temperature of 100 ° C is reached,

d-) add 180 g of virgin beeswax to the mixture obtained in step c-) and stir the mixture until a temperature of 100 ° C is reached,

e-) filter the mixture from step d-), and

f-) cool the mixture to a temperature between 20 and 40 ° C.

g-) pack the mixture.

Once the final mixture cools, its consistency increases until a stable ointment is obtained that applied on top of the skin forms a homogeneous layer.

Pharmaceuticals Therefore, olive oil, for example, must be prepared just before its use and, before being used for the preparation of the ointment, is subjected to analysis. These oils are stored in closed containers, are cooled and kept in a dark place. In addition, they no longer include traces of water, so that the turbidity of solutions is avoided. Also, beeswax is purified before use.

The active components of the ointment, according to the invention, activate each other reciprocally and therefore produce an effect of synergy in the treatment of some skin diseases or skin burns. When such ointment is compared with known analogue products, several advantages can be appreciated, among which a rapid action can be mentioned, producing its remarkable curative effects in a period less than 7 days for the majority of skin conditions, provides a bacteriostatic effect. and fungicide, and does not contain synthetic substances, which may not be available. The ointment should not be applied to the skin of people who are allergic to any of its components.

Next, examples of the preparation of the ointment according to the invention are provided, in order to explain the invention in more detail.

Realization Examples

The following specific examples provided herein serve to illustrate the nature of the present invention. These examples are included for illustrative purposes only and are not to be construed as limitations to the invention claimed herein.

Example 1: Ointment for treatment of first degree burns, cuts and minor injuries

As a preferred example of the present invention, but not limiting, a homogeneous ointment is obtained according to the following procedure:

a-) select elder flowers by discarding the stems and barks and weigh 2 g of elder flowers (Sambucus nigra L.), 2 g of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), 50 g of incense and 180 g of virgin beeswax.

b-) pour 1 L of olive oil with 1 ° of acidity into an appropriate container comprising a mechanical stirring medium, a thermometer, and a thermal exchange medium and then add the heavy elder flowers, rosemary and incense in stage a)

c-) keep the previous mixture with continuous stirring until a temperature of 100 ° C is reached,

d-) add 180 g of virgin beeswax to the mixture obtained in step c-) and stir until a temperature of 100 ° C is reached,

e-) filter the mixture from step d-), and

f-) cool the mixture to a temperature between 40 and 60 ° C.

g-) pack.

After 15 min of its preparation, the consistency of the ointment increases until a stable ointment is obtained which, applied on top of the skin, forms a homogeneous layer.

The ointment obtained is applied topically on a burn, cuts and minor wounds, presenting complete scarring of the treated perimeter and epithelial regeneration after 12 hours.

Example 2: Ointment for treatment of second degree burns, cuts and serious wounds

A homogeneous ointment is obtained according to example 1.

Before the application of the ointment, it is advisable to remove the dead skin or blister, which is caused by the second degree burn, a cleaning is done with gauze to remove dead skin or blisters. Subsequently, a cotton gauze is impregnated with the ointment and kept applied on the affected area to perform the cure. The priests are repeated every 24 hours. From the fourth day of treatment curative effects are observed since the burned skin is regenerated without leaving a scar.

If, when producing a burn, the ointment is treated within a maximum of 2 minutes, no blisters occur in the burned area, thus avoiding the need for initial cleaning.

In the case of wounds and cuts, the procedure is similar. After disinfecting the affected area, the ointment is applied by gauze. The treatment is repeated every 24 hours. From the fourth day the healing effects are observed.

5 Example 3: Ointment for the treatment of lesions caused by eczema, hemorrhoids, psoriasis, fungi and herpes.

A homogeneous ointment is obtained according to example 1.

The ointment obtained is applied topically on several lesions in different body areas that present with psoriasis, eczema, hemorrhoids or fungi, presenting complete healing, relief, hydration and elimination of the affected area in a period less than 10 days.

In the case of herpes, after 12 hours improvements are noticed and within 48 hours it disappears.

Example 4: Ointment for veterinary use.

A homogeneous ointment is obtained according to example 1.

15 The ointment obtained is applied to the skin of animals in wounds caused by wires and rigging, producing a disinfectant and regenerating effect after 12 hours. The wounds disappear after a week, applying the ointment every 24 hours.
