Abstract
Un dispositivo de estanqueidad (1) dispuesto alrededor de un electrodo (4) de varilla que se extiende verticalmente a través de una abertura (3) realizada en el techo (2) de un horno de arco y que es desplazable verticalmente en el interior del horno para evitar el acceso de los gases del horno a través de la abertura (3) a la atmósfera, y por otra parte para evitar que el aire fluya desde la atmósfera al horno, comprendiendo el dispositivo de estanqueidad: - una cámara (5) de distribución de gas provista de un canal (6) de entrada para la alimentación de gas esencialmente pasivo, tal como nitrógeno o aire, en la cámara de distribución de gas, y - una boquilla (7) a través del cual un chorro de gas está dispuesto para descargarse desde la cámara (5) de distribución de gas hacia el electrodo (4), caracterizado porque la boquilla (7) es una boquilla (7) de ranura que encierra el electrodo y descarga el chorro de gas en una dirección que forma un ángulo (α) con respecto al plano horizontal y tiene una orientación ligeramente inclinada hacia arriba, y que, con respecto al interior del horno, apunta hacia el exterior, de modo que la estanqueidad se realiza debido al efecto de la presión de estancamiento creada; y que el dispositivo de estanqueidad (1) está montado sobre un cojinete (9) de deslizamiento eléctricamente aislante que comprende: - un primera anillo (10) de base metálico que está dispuesto en la parte superior del borde de la abertura (3), - un segundo anillo (11) de base realizado de un material eléctricamente aislante, dispuesto en la parte superior del primer anillo de base, y - un tercer anillo (12) de base metálico que está dispuesto en la parte superior del segundo anillo de base, de modo que en la parte superior de dicho tercer anillo de base, el dispositivo de estanqueidad (1) está dispuesto para apoyarse sólo por gravedad, sin otra fijación, para permitir un movimiento lateral limitado del dispositivo de estanqueidad para su adaptación al movimiento lateral del electrodo.
