Abstract

Un proceso continuo y no acuoso para producir éter de glicol fenólico, comprendiendo el proceso las etapas de (A) poner en contacto, en condiciones reactivas isotermas, en un primer reactor o zona de reacción, un óxido de alquileno con (i) un exceso molar estequiométrico de un compuesto fenólico, y (ii) una cantidad catalítica de una base dispersada de forma homogénea por todo el compuesto fenólico, para formar un primer intermedio de producto de éter de glicol fenólico (B), transferir el primer intermedio de producto de éter de glicol fenólico a un segundo reactor o zona de reacción, y (C) someter el primer intermedio de producto de éter de glicol fenólico a condiciones reactivas adiabáticas en el segundo reactor o zona de reacción para formar un segundo intermedio de producto de éter de glicol fenólico que comprende éter de glicol fenólico, compuesto fenólico que no ha reaccionado, catalizador, agua y glicoles de sub-producto.
