Preferably, the shapes and sizes are selected so that the contact of the fluid with the porous portion of the oral hygiene instrument is optimized. In addition, those skilled in the art will appreciate that there are numerous variations and permutations of the systems and techniques described above. It should be understood that other embodiments can be used and that structural and functional modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the claims.

Claims

1. An oral hygiene instrument (1) comprising a head (20), including at least a portion of said head (20) at least one oral hygiene agent;

5 wherein said head (20) is formed of a material that includes cavities (50), and at least a plurality of said cavities (50) comprising at least one oral hygiene agent; characterized in that the at least one oral hygiene agent comprises a first oral hygiene agent and a second oral hygiene agent, said first oral hygiene agent being an oral hygiene agent different from said second oral hygiene agent;

10 because a first of said cavities (50) comprises the first oral hygiene agent and a second of said cavities (50) comprises the second oral hygiene agent; and because said first oral hygiene agent is released at a first rate and said second oral hygiene agent is released at a second rate that is different from said first rate.

The oral hygiene instrument (1) of claim 1, wherein at least one of said cavities (50) comprises the first oral hygiene agent and the second oral hygiene agent.

3. The oral hygiene instrument (1) of claim 2, wherein said first oral hygiene agent is disposed relative to said second oral hygiene agent such that said first oral hygiene agent

20 is close to an outer surface (22, 24, 26) of said head (20) with respect to said second oral hygiene agent.

4. The oral hygiene instrument (1) of claim 2, wherein said first and second hygiene agents

buccal are exposed substantially simultaneously to an outer surface (22, 24, 26) of said head 25 (20).

5. The oral hygiene instrument (1) of claim 1, wherein said at least one oral hygiene agent is depleted after a single use of said oral hygiene instrument (1).

The oral hygiene instrument (1) of claim 1, wherein said at least one oral hygiene agent is dispensed during repeated uses of said oral hygiene instrument (1).

7. The oral hygiene instrument (1) of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein said cavities (50)

8. The oral hygiene instrument (1) of any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein said cavities (50) are located on an outer surface (22, 24, 26) of said head (20).

9. The oral hygiene instrument (1) of any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein said cavities (50) 40 are located on multiple exterior surfaces (22, 24, 26) of said head (20).

10. The oral hygiene instrument (1) of any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein at least one of said first and second oral hygiene agents includes an antimicrobial agent, a tooth cleanser, a tooth whitener, a refresher of breath, an abrasive, a plate dispersant, a vitamin, an agent of

De-sensitization, an anti-cavity agent, a flavoring agent, a decoration, a nutritional or body supplement or combinations thereof.

11. The oral hygiene instrument (1) of any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein said instrument of
