A dressing is a medical device, conventionally composed of a support sheet that adheres to the skin with an internal layer of contact with the wound, used to cover and protect a wound in order to promote its moist healing and healing, causing autolysis of the necrotic tissue through the exudate itself generated by the patient himself.

However, in very exudative wounds, dressings can cause maceration and dermatitis problems in the skin next to the wound, as well as lifting the dressing, which makes the treatment longer and more painful, since removal is necessary first of the dressing and then of the remains adhered to the wound by dragging with sterile gauze the remains adhered to the wound.

There are solutions for the elimination of excess exudate from wounds, by vacuum absorption, using an element that sucks the exudate, to maintain favorable conditions in the wound; but these solutions require putting the nozzle of the suction element in contact with the environment of the wound, which generates risks of infection and significant discomfort from the contact of the nozzle with the affected area.

Object of the invention

In accordance with the present invention, a wound cleaning equipment and a method for carrying out wound cleaning with said equipment are proposed, allowing the removal of excess exudate and the effective cleaning of very exudative wounds treated by dressings, without it is necessary to manipulate the dressing during the process and without external elements coming into harmful contact with the wound or its surroundings.

This equipment object of the invention consists of a dressing that carries a cannula connected to the internal part of contact with the application wound and that at the other end is capable of being associated with a pumping element that allows the injection of an antiseptic liquid until the inner part of the dressing and subsequently the extraction of said liquid from the dressing by aspiration.

The dressing consists of a waterproof outer layer and an inner layer made of

porous material, the antiseptic liquid transfusion cannula being connected to the inner layer.

The pumping element for the transfusion of the antiseptic liquid can be any device that allows to carry out a double function of boosting and absorbing, for example a pump element

between an inlet and an outlet, so that in order to propel an antiseptic liquid towards the dressing, the cannula of the dressing is connected to the outlet of the pump element and its entrance to a container container

of the antiseptic liquid, while for the extraction of the antiseptic liquid from the dressing

connects the cannula of the dressing to the entrance of the pump element, thus producing an absorption that extracts the antiseptic liquid along with the wound exudate. Said drive and suction function can also be achieved using a syringe as the pump element.

The procedure for cleaning wounds with the aforementioned equipment consists in placing the dressing on the application wound and, once so, injecting an antiseptic liquid through the cannula of the dressing, which soaks the inner layer of the dressing by capillarity. Then, after allowing the antiseptic fluid to act on the wound for a while, proceed to aspirate the antiseptic fluid and the exudate that the wound may have produced through the cannula of the dressing.

This operation of injection of antiseptic liquid and subsequent aspiration thereof together with wound exudate can be repeated several consecutive times in the same way, to achieve a total cleaning efficiency of the application wound.

In this way, with the application of the cleaning procedure, not only the wound cleaning is achieved, but also a disinfection is achieved, since together with the antiseptic liquid, the skin and bacteria are removed, resulting in a highly effective system , and also painless and hygienic, since no manipulations are made on the wound.

The procedure is also very easy to apply, and can be used both at a medical level and at a particular level, since it does not require specialization, and can be used to treat wounds of any kind.

Detailed description of the invention

The object of the invention refers to a wound cleaning equipment, comprising a dressing

(1) intended to be disposed on the wound to be treated and a pumping element (2) to inject an antiseptic liquid (3) into the dressing (1) and then extract it along with the exudation of the application wound; and a wound cleaning procedure with the aforementioned equipment, allowing wound cleaning to be carried out in a simple, convenient manner and without direct manipulation of the wounds.

The dressing (1) consists of an outer layer (l. 1) made of an impermeable material, such as latex coated cellulose, and an inner layer (1.2) made of a porous material, incorporating connected to this inner layer (1.2 ) a cannula (4).

The cannula (4) is a flexible tube provided at the free end with a nozzle (4.1), whereby

The pumping element (2) can be of any type that allows the impulsion and absorption of a liquid, such as a manually operated pump element (5) provided with a suction inlet (5.1) and a discharge outlet ( 5.2), according to the embodiment represented in the drawings; so that for the injection of an antiseptic liquid (3) to a dressing (1) disposed on a wound, the nozzle (4.1) of the cannula (4) of the dressing (1) is connected to the discharge outlet (5.2) of the pump element (5), being arranged in relation to the suction inlet

(5.1) thereof a container (6) container of the antiseptic liquid (3) to be injected, as shown in Figure 2; while for the extraction of the liquid

antiseptic (3) of the dressing (1) the nozzle is connected

(4.1) of the cannula (4) of the dressing (1) to the suction inlet (5.1) of the pump element (5), so that the antiseptic liquid (3) that is absorbed exits through the discharge outlet (5. 2), and can be collected in a container (6), as shown in Figure 3.

Within the concept of the invention, as a pumping element (2) a syringe can also be used, with which the impulse and suction functions can be performed in the same way, by advancing and retracting the piston thereof.

The procedure for cleaning wounds with said equipment of the invention is to place a dressing

(1) on the wound to be cleaned and, once so, by means of the pumping element (2) an antiseptic liquid (3) is injected through the cannula (3) 'which soaks the inner layer by capillarity (l) 2) of the dressing

(1) 'and after a while for the antiseptic fluid

(3) act on the wound, the antiseptic liquid (3) is removed from the dressing (1) 'by aspiration with the pumping element (2) through the cannula

(4), so that together with the antiseptic liquid (3) the exudation of the treated wound is absorbed, as well as the bacteria and skin, so that a very effective cleaning of the wound is achieved.

The operation can be repeated several consecutive times in the same way, allowing to achieve with this procedure a totally effective cleaning of any wound, even very suppurating wounds.

To improve the action of the aspiration of the antiseptic liquid (3) together with the exudation of the

wounds to clean, the disposition of the dressing (1) on the application wounds can be complemented with a covering by means of a retractable type film, in order to achieve that a completely hermetic closure is established around the skin (1) of the patient.

Claims (7)

1.-Equipment for wound cleaning, characterized in that it comprises a dressing (1) and a pumping element (2) capable of driving and aspirating an antiseptic liquid (3), the dressing (1) incorporating a cannula (4), which is capable of being connected to the pumping element (2) to inject and absorb an antiseptic liquid (3) with respect to the dressing (1). 2. Equipment for wound cleaning, according to the first claim, characterized in that the dressing (1) comprises an outer layer (1.1) of impermeable material and an inner layer (1.2) of porous material, the cannula being connected ( 4) to this inner layer (1.2). 3.-Equipment for wound cleaning, according to the first claim, characterized in that the cannula (4) has a nozzle at the free end (4.1), whereby it is capable of being connected to the pumping element (2) to inject or absorb antiseptic liquid (3) with respect to the dressing (1). 4. Equipment for wound cleaning, according to the first claim, characterized in that the pumping element (2) can be a manually operated pump element (5) provided with a suction inlet (5.1) and an outlet of drive (5.2), in respect of which the cannula (4), respectively, can be connected to inject and absorb antiseptic liquid (3) with respect to the dressing (1). 5.-Equipment for wound cleaning, according to the first claim, characterized in that the Pumping element (2) can be a syringe, to inject and absorb with it antiseptic liquid (3), through the cannula (4), with respect to the dressing (1). 6. Procedure for cleaning wounds with the equipment of the preceding claims, comprising a dressing (1) incorporating connected a cannula (4), through which an antiseptic liquid (3) can be injected and absorbed with respect to said dressing (1), characterized in that the dressing (1) is first placed on the wound to be cleaned and, once so, an antiseptic liquid (3) is injected into the dressing (1), through the cannula (4) ), by means of a pumping element (2), allowing the antiseptic liquid (3) to act for a while on the wound, and then, by means of the pumping element (2), aspirate the antiseptic liquid (3) from the dressing (1) , the exudate of the application wound being absorbed in this aspiration together with the antiseptic liquid (3). 7. Procedure for wound cleaning, according to the sixth claim, characterized in that for the cleaning of a wound, the operations of injection and aspiration of an antiseptic liquid (3) in relation to the application wound are performed several times.
