Field of the Invention

Background of the invention

It is common practice to use household appliances that generate steam in the form of plates to smooth fabrics or similar surface formations in the private and commercial sector. In the use of an iron, a flat, smooth surface, the ironing sole, is heated, and seated on the surface formation to smooth. By pressing and moving the plate relative to the surface formation, often backed by a simultaneous steam supply, wrinkles are removed from the surface formation. When this happens, the temperature of the ironing sole is chosen to achieve a good smoothing effect, usually in such a way that the surface formation is not deteriorated, precisely, during a brief contact with the ironing sole. Another household steam generating apparatus is, by way of example, a steam cleaner, in which wet steam is expelled through a steam nozzle that can be placed on the surface to be cleaned. Other household appliances that generate steam are also devices for the production of coffee, milk foam, or for cleaning curtains.

From the patent application publication brochure DE 34 10 247 A1, a device for generating steam for domestic use is known. The device described therein consists of a heating tank, provided with an electric heater for heating and evaporating water, with a water tank separated from the heating tank. A pump is connected between the heating tank, on the one hand, and the tank, on the other hand. A signal emitter of the minimum state of the water in the heating tank connects the pump when there is a minimum state of the water previously set, and a signal emitter of the maximum pressure in the heating tank disconnects the pump when a maximum pressure of the steam set previously. In this, it can be disadvantageous that the hot steam emerging in this embodiment has a low percentage of humidity, but that for an effective ironing a higher moisture content of the steam is desirable.

The patent application publication brochure DE 196 14 511 C1 addresses this problem. This refers to a steam ironing station, which has a water tank, a first feed pump that can be activated through a steam switch, as well as a steam generator, in addition to heating, where, through a first water conduit, by means of the first feed pump, water is transported from the water tank to the steam generator, and the steam generated in the steam generator is conducted to the iron through a steam conduit, and a second conduit of water ("bypass duct"), through which water is transported to the steam duct with a second feed pump. Through this arrangement, a higher humidity of the steam is achieved. Likewise, the steam ironing station is provided with an electronic control, which is activated through a switch-shaped control device arranged next to the iron handle part, and directs the two feed pumps. In this embodiment, the cost in equipment that is produced by the use of two pumps is disadvantageous.

From practice, another steam ironing station is known, which, via a 3/2 way valve, optionally transports water from the water tank to the steam generator, or to the bypass line. Here, only one pump is planned. This may have the disadvantage that, when the steam generator is filled, water cannot be transported simultaneously to the steam line from the water tank.

Patent publication booklet US2010 / 0011629 A1 refers to a device that can be used for the production of superheated water. The device is composed of a water tank and a heating element. During use, the water is usually heated to between 120º C and 140º C. The brochure also refers to a domestic appliance containing this device for the production of superheated water. Water or steam can be extracted from the water tank using a flexible tube or a tube. A user-directed valve allows, by opening, extracting water or steam from the water tank, and making them available, for example, in the form of a steam jet. In the water tank, an outlet can be found that is, at least, partly, outside the water level and, consequently, can extract steam and partly water from the tank. However, no means are disclosed to ensure that a mixture of steam and water is always extracted.

From the European patent brochure EP 1 311 786 B1, a domestic apparatus for generating steam is disclosed, which comprises a boiler with a heating source for evaporating water, and a control means with an adjustment means for adjusting the pressure of steam in the boiler. Also, a steam supply means is provided, which interacts with the adjustment means to adjust the pressure in the boiler so that the heating source is turned on and off depending on the open and closed state of the supply means of steam. The boiler is filled with water by a pump from a storage tank. The pump is controlled by a temperature sensor, which, by means of the measured temperature, allows to infer whether the water should be replenished.

Task of the invention

The invention is based on the task of making available an improved steam generating domestic appliance with a resistant pressure water tank, a first conveyor device for water from the pressurized water tank, and a first conduit, preconnected to the conveyor device for supply the conveyor with water from the pressurized water tank. With the invention, it must be achievable especially to produce wet steam. The domestic steam generator must be of simple and economical construction and safe operation.

Solution according to the invention

The reference symbols have no restrictive effect on any of the claims, but should only improve their readability.

The solution of the proposed task is achieved by means of a domestic steam generating apparatus with the characteristics of claim 1. By means of the invention, with exceptionally simple means, a steam enriched with water can be advantageously generated. In the heated pressure water tank, the water is always partly in a liquid state, and partly in a gaseous state, that is, as water vapor. The water level separates the steam above it from the water below it. Through the operation of the domestic appliance, in the extraction of water, the first duct always draws water simultaneously both above and below the water level, water and water vapor can always be extracted at the same time liquid The two fractions can then be mixed in a steam enriched with water.

In the sense of the present invention, "water" may refer to both water in the form of steam, that is, water vapor, and liquid water. A water level regulation is a device that, through appropriate measures, ensures that in the operation of the domestic appliance the height of the water level in the pressurized water tank is always in a zone of fluctuation set between a height minimum filling and a maximum filling height of the pressurized water tank. Through the adjustment of the water level in the pressurized water tank, a water level is adjusted, it can be ensured that the duct can always extract water both above and below the water level.

Finally, an embodiment of the invention is also conceivable in which, in the operation of the domestic appliance, the second conduit always extracts the water in the water extraction simultaneously both above and below the water level. When this is done, the second conduit is preferably arranged and configured so that the water is conducted after extraction as wet steam to the conveyor. Like the first preferred conduit, the second preferred conduit is provided with a filter which, particularly preferably, is a section of the second conduit provided with a plurality of openings. In a temporary control, the domestic appliance can be switched from the first to the second mode of operation provisionally, for example, at fixed intervals; in a sensor control, the modes could be chosen, for example, depending on the temperature of an ironing sole of a household appliance made as a steam iron or steam ironing station.

The preferred domestic appliance has a control element for a steam jet, which, in case of actuation, temporarily switches from the first mode of operation to the second mode of operation and then again connects back to the first mode of operation . The preferred pressure water tank has a heating element for heating the pressure water tank, and a sensor for directing the heating element. The sensor preferably measures a property of steam in the pressurized water tank, for example, the pressure or the temperature of the steam. This can contribute to ensuring a constant pressure in the pressure water tank within the necessary limits.

The preferred water level regulation comprises a water supplier for supplying water to the pressurized water tank. The preferred water level regulation further comprises a filling status sensor for measuring the height of the water level, and a control device for directing the water supplier depending on the signal of the filling status sensor. An appropriate water level regulation is known, for example, from patent pamphlet EP 1 311 786 B1. The preferred filling status sensor is a temperature sensor. In the following description of a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the same reference symbols denominate the same or comparable components.

Next, the exemplary embodiment is explained by means of figures 1 and 2. In this, in figure 1, an ironing station 1 is shown for steam ironing an ironing article, which has a steam generator 2 and an iron 3. In the pressurized water tank 5, the water is found as water vapor above a water level 10 and, below it, as liquid water. The outputs of the first 6 and the second magnetic valve 7 are assembled and connected to the steam iron 3 through a connection conduit 4. Consequently, the water extracted through the first 8 or the second conduit 9 is supplied to the plate 3 through the connection conduit 4 if the associated magnetic valve 6, 7 is open. If both magnetic valves 6, 7 are open, the wet steam extracted through the first conduit 8 and the dry steam extracted through the second conduit 9 are mixed in the connection conduit 4, and thus supplied to the plate 3.

The ironing station 1 also has an electric heating element 13 for heating the water tank under pressure 5, as well as a pressure sensor 14 for directing the heating element 13. The pressure sensor 14 directs the heating element 13 a through an electronic regulator circuit not shown, so that the heating element 13 is connected when it falls below a predetermined minimum pressure and, when a maximum prescribed pressure is exceeded, is disconnected. This is intended to ensure an essentially constant vapor pressure in the pressurized water tank 5. For this purpose, the ironing station 1 comprises a water tank 15, which is connected as far as the fluid with the pressurized water tank 5 through a pump-shaped water supplier 16, so that the water supplier 16 can supply the pressurized water tank with 5 water from the water tank 15.   1.  Claims
    one.
    Domestic steam generator apparatus (1) with a heated pressurized water tank (5), a first conveyor device for water from the pressurized water tank (5), a first duct (8), which is preconnected to the first device conveyor (6) to supply the first conveyor device (6) with water from the pressurized water reservoir (5), where the pressurized water reservoir (5) is provided with a water level regulation to adjust a water level ( 10) in the pressurized water tank (5) in the operation of the domestic appliance (1), characterized in that, in the operation of the domestic appliance (1), in the extraction of water the first duct (8) always draws water simultaneously both above and below the water level (10).

    Domestic steam generator apparatus (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the first duct (8) is arranged and configured such that the water is conducted after the extraction as wet steam to the first conveyor device (6).

    Domestic steam generator apparatus (1) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first duct (8) for water extraction is provided with a filter.

    Domestic steam generator apparatus (1) according to claim 3, characterized in that the filter is a section of the first duct (8) provided with a plurality of openings (11).

    Domestic steam generating apparatus (1) according to claim 4, characterized in that at least one of the openings (11) is arranged on a front side of a section of the end of the first duct (12).

    Domestic steam generating apparatus (1) according to claim 4 or 5, characterized in that at least one of the openings (11) is arranged in a lining of the duct section.

    Domestic steam generator apparatus (1) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the domestic appliance (1) has a second duct (9) for extracting water above and / or below the water level (10).

    Domestic steam generator apparatus (1) according to claim 7, characterized in that, in the extraction of water, the second duct
    (9) always withdraw water only above the water level (10).

    Domestic steam generating apparatus (1) according to claim 7 or 8, characterized in that the domestic appliance (1) is operable in a first mode of operation in which steam can be obtained from the second duct (9), and the domestic appliance ( 1) is switchable to a second mode of operation in which, additionally or exclusively, steam can be obtained from the first duct (8).

    Domestic steam generator apparatus (1) according to claim 9, characterized in that the domestic apparatus (1) has a control element (19) for a steam jet, which, in case of actuation, switches temporarily from the first mode of operation to the second mode of operation and then connect again to the first mode of operation.

  15. 2. Statement motivated according to articles 29.6 and 29.7 of the Regulations for the execution of Law 11/1986, of March 20, on Patents on novelty and inventive activity; quotes and explanations in support of this statement
    Independent claim
    The object of the invention is a domestic steam generating apparatus with a heated pressure water tank; a reservoir water transport device; a first conduit connected to the conveyor device and a regulation of the tank level. The indicated conduit draws water from the reservoir simultaneously both above and below the water level.
    Document D01, to which the references indicated below belong, is considered to be the state of the art closest to the invention, as set out in claim 1. This document describes a domestic steam generating apparatus ( column 1, lines 15-17 -figure 1-) with a reservoir (10 -figure 3-) of heated pressurized water; a reservoir water transport device (54 -figure 1-); a first conduit connected to the conveyor device (43 -figure 3-) and a regulation of the tank level (15, 17 -figure 3-; column 2, lines 28-43). The indicated conduit draws water from the reservoir simultaneously both above and below the water level (46, 47 Figure 3-). (For the full explanation of the invention see column 2, line 14-column 4, line 45).
    The fact that, as disclosed in document D01, between the conveyor device and the first conduit there is a hose that makes the connection of these two elements, constitutes an alternative arrangement to the configuration defined in the invention of the application with the that the same technical effect is achieved (see column 3, lines 66-73).
    Therefore, the invention defined in claim 1 does not differ from the technique known in document D01 in any essential way, being considered obvious to one skilled in the art. Accordingly, the invention according to claim 1 is not considered to involve inventive activity based on what is disclosed in document D01. This is in accordance with the provisions of Article 8.1 of Law 11/86.
    Dependent Claims
    Dependent claims 2-4 and 6 are set forth in document D01. With respect to claim 5, wherein it is indicated that at least one of the openings is in the front section of the duct, it does not imply inventive activity when considering an obvious design selection. In the case of claims 7-10, the second conduit referred to implies a variant that does not provide a special technical effect and, therefore, lacks inventive activity.
    Dependent claims 11-14 are considered common knowledge in the state of the art. This can be verified taking into account document D02 that reflects the disclosure of the content of these claims, specifically, the presence of a water level regulator of the tank, filling status sensors and control device to direct the water supplier ( indicated in claim 12), are described in this document D02. The same occurs with respect to the configuration as an ironing station indicated in claim 14 and which also appears in this document.
    Therefore, claims 2-14 lack inventive activity in accordance with the provisions of article 8.1 of Law 11/86.
