Abstract

The assembly of pieces (1) has a rectangular frame and another rectangular frame (11) whose dimensions correspond to those of base of furniture after assembly of the furniture. Webbing band system (10f) is fixed on the former frame. Four parallelepiped connection parts (13) respectively have through holes to receive fixation units such as screws, for assembling the furniture. Lateral elements (14) respectively form armrests of the furniture, and a center rail forming unit (16) is placed in the base for reinforcing the base. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling pieces for forming a base of furniture.

Description

The present invention relates to the furniture sector and is composed of an armchair or sofa seat, whose structure is designed to facilitate assembly and disassembly.

The end user usually buys the chair or couch already made, that is, assembled and lined with fabric.

Such a piece of furniture takes up a lot of space, which translates into high transport costs from the factory to the place of distribution and then to the end user's home. The dimensions of the furniture also influence storage costs since very large warehouses are needed. All this has a direct impact on the purchase price paid by the end user.

On the other hand, it is relatively difficult to properly pack this type of furniture taking into account its dimensions, shape and fragility of lined parts. In addition, if the furniture is damaged and has to be repaired by the manufacturer's after-sales service, it must be transported back to the factory. The damaged part cannot be separated. Many times the damage requires that the lining be changed, which can only be done in the manufacturer's workshop. This constitutes such an important expense, especially because of transportation costs, which generates a considerable part of the manufacturer's expenses.

In addition, for several years consumers are proposed sets of furniture pieces. They are quite popular, especially due to their low price. Unfortunately, today in the furniture market there is no armchair or couch furniture to assemble, and this because its design is complicated and proper assembly can only be ensured by a professional.

Several solutions have been proposed to solve this problem. It is worth mentioning document FR-2 857 838, which refers to the furniture type sofa or armchair whose structure is in the form of a box with the open bottom in which the backrest of the furniture fits.

This project allows, once the furniture has been disassembled and ordered, to obtain a form of parallelepiped that is easy to pack and transport. Unfortunately, its volume remains important and offers only a partial solution to the problem of transport and storage costs.

US-6,839,950 is a description of the process of assembling elements of a modular sofa. These elements can be transported and stored in a disassembled form, which solves the problem of costs due to the large volume of a traditional canapé. US 2003/0111882 A1 is also a description of a modular sofa.

In the assembly it is necessary to use metal elements to ensure the rigidity of the couch. The metallic elements are rails with a complex structure, which allow to regulate the length of each element, and a pair of profiles, whose structure, equally very complex, allows one of them to enter the other to fix it to the rails. These pieces constitute an additional cost.

In addition, the presence of metallic elements and the relative complexity of regulation and fixing make assembly difficult for a user without experience in the subject.

The structure of the furniture is composed of several elements embedded together as a puzzle and linked together. The project includes several large supports that serve to ensure the stiffness of the seat and backrest.

In this case also a high number of components and the way of assembly of certain elements make it difficult to mount the couch by an inexperienced user.

In addition, when the furniture is already assembled, it should be lined, which is usually quite difficult.

The objective of the present invention is to alleviate the inconveniences observed in the existing solutions by proposing a piece of furniture with the modular seat to facilitate transport and storage, a piece of furniture that is easy to assemble by a normal user, and whose repair would be limited to replacement of really damaged parts, which would considerably reduce the costs of the after-sales service.

The invention relates to a set of pieces of pieces intended to form a furniture seat and includes the features described in claim 1.

If the furniture in question is a type of sofa or armchair, the set of pieces also contains at least one board

backup. The set of pieces can also comprise a side element that serves as armrest of the furniture mounted.

It would be best if the set of pieces included at least one support mounted on the seat to reinforce the furniture. The frame of the set has a rectangular shape that is more comfortable to handle. If the set of pieces is intended to form an angle couch, it is recommended that you also include:

-

 two identical frames, suspension elements nailed to one of the frames, and

-

 an additional backrest board with the width corresponding to the two frames mentioned above. Depending on the preferred final form, the set of pieces of pieces may also comprise:

-

 at least two backrest boards to form an angle piece of furniture,

-

 at least one board intended to be placed on one side of the furniture,

-Various legs. It would be convenient if at least some parts of the set of pieces were lined. Taking into account the fate of the invention, cushions are provided for sitting or leaning, adapted to

the shape of the furniture to make. The invention also relates to the way of assembling the set of parts according to the characteristics above. described and intended to obtain the seat of a piece of furniture, which includes the following stages:

(to)

 placement of the connecting pieces between the two frames, at least at the level of the four angles.

(b)

 fixing the frames with the connecting pieces so that a seat of a piece of furniture is formed.

In the case of the assembly of the set of pieces that contains at least one backing board, the procedure will also include step (c), which consists of fixing the board to the connecting pieces by means of screws.

In the case of the assembly of the set of pieces that also contains at least one lateral element, the method will also comprise step (d), which consists in fixing the lateral elements to the joining pieces.

In the case of the assembly of the set of parts containing at least one support, the procedure, in step (a), will also consist of placing at least one support between the two frames.

The invention also relates to the way of assembling the set of parts intended to form an angle couch, in accordance with the above description, in which case the assembly procedure will include the following steps:

-

 assembly of the central part of the couch according to steps (a) and (c);

-

 assembly of the central part of the angle of the couch with two additional frames and at least four connecting pieces, according to stages (a) and (c);

-

 Screw fixing of the two central parts with the connecting pieces to mount the central part of the angle couch and, during step (d), the fixing of the two side panels to the central part of the angle couch.

In the case of a particular form of assembly, the set of parts pieces may contain a support and two pairs of additional joining pieces. When mounting the central part of the angle of the couch, it is necessary to place at least one support between two additional boards and then, during step (b), fix the connecting pieces and the support.

If the set of parts contains legs, the assembly consists of mounting them in the vicinity of the fixing area between the straight central part and the central part of the angle of the couch, as well as below the protruding part of the angle.

If the set of pieces contains the front panel and two side panels intended to form the angle of the couch, the assembly consists of fixing the boards to the central part of the corner of the couch.

To better understand the invention, its purpose, advantages and properties we recommend reading the description that follows and analyzing the attached figures:

 Figure 1 shows the set of pieces for forming the couch according to the invention,

-

 Figures 2 to 5 show the successive assembly stages of the parts presented in Figure 1,

 Figure 6 shows, by way of example, the parts that must be taken into account to, apart from those presented in Figure 1, mount an angle couch, and

-

 Figures 7 to 10 show certain stages of assembly of the pieces intended to mount an angle couch.

To facilitate the task, the common parts and certain figures will be marked with the same symbols.

Figure 1 shows, by way of example, the set of pieces intended to form a couch.

The set of pieces 1 contains two frames 10 and 11, in the form of rectangles. The two frames are identical and their dimensions correspond to the dimensions of the seat of the mounted sofa.

In frame 10 the tape system or other equivalent suspension system has been nailed.

The set of pieces 1 also contains the backing board 12 and the front board 15. These two boards are also rectangular in shape and their length corresponds to the length of the frames 10 and 11.

In this example the set of pieces 1 also contains four joining pieces 13 in the form of a parallelepiped, with several perforations 130 and the support 16, which is best seen in Figure 2.

The set of pieces 1 also contains two side panels 14 intended to form armrests of the couch and four legs 17.

The set of pieces 1 includes the back cushion 18 and that of the seat 19, which must be placed in the assembled furniture.

It should be noted that all the pieces of the set of pieces have perforations that serve to place in them the fixing element, which allows assembly. Figure 1 shows perforations 12a and 12b in the backrest board 12, perforations 11a and 11b in the frame 11, perforations 14a in the side panel 14 and the perforations 17a in the legs 17.

To the set of pieces 1 are added the fasteners that do not appear in Figure 1.

Right now you have to realize that the set of parts intended to form an armchair does not have to include the support 16. In addition, in this case, the dimensions of the frames 10 and 11, the backrest board 12 and the front board 15 They are adapted to the dimensions of the armchair. Similarly, if the canapé has a large seat, for example three seats, the set of parts of the invention may include additional support 16, and even additional legs.

In the same way, the board 15 serves aesthetic purposes and, in some cases, can be dispensed with.

All elements of the set of parts, which will be visible after assembly, that is, elements 12, 14 and 15, are first covered with a liner.

Now the assembly process of the set of pieces 1 will be presented with reference to figures 2 to 5.

Figure 2 shows the first stage of assembly, during which the frames 10 and 11 are placed in front of each other, the connecting pieces 13 are placed between the frames at the height of the angles, while the support 16 is placed in the middle of the longer sides of the frames 10c, 11c.

The perforations 13a on opposite sides of the connecting pieces 13 are provided with pins 20.

In Figure 2 we can see that the support 16 has four notches 16a, which should fit with the grooves 10b and 11b, which are located on the longer sides 10c and 11c of the frames 10 and 11. As we can see in the figure 2, in front of the edges of the element 16 are the notches 16a. The frames 10 and 11 are provided with grooves 10b and 11b, which correspond to the notches and are located on the longer sides 10c and 11c.

Once the assembly has been placed according to the description of the previous point, frames 10 and 11 must be approached in the direction indicated by arrows F1 and F2.

Next, the pins 20 fit the holes 10a and 11a at the angles of the frames 10 and 11, while the notches 16a of the support 16 fit the grooves 10b and 11b. In this example of mounting in two holes 10a and 11a at the angles of the frames, the pins 20 of the connecting piece 13 must be fitted. To reinforce the fixing of the pins, glue can be used and applied in holes 10a and 11a.

Once the frames 10 and 11, joining pieces 13 and the support 16 are joined, other fasteners can be used at the four angle of the frames, for which the holes 10e and 11e are used.

Figure 3 presents two following stages of the assembly of the invention. In the first of them, once the connecting pieces are joined with the support, the front panel 15 is fixed to the frames. Fixing can be secured by screwing the screws in the perforations 130a, visible in Figure 2. Of course, the perforations in the front panel 15 exist, although they are not seen in the figures. The next stage, presented in Figure 3, consists of joining the backrest board 12 with two connecting pieces 13 that are located on the opposite side of the front board 15. As we can see in Figure 3, the frames 10 and 11 mounted , the connecting pieces, the support 16 and the front board 15 are in front of the backrest board 12, such that the connecting pieces 13, located opposite the front board, are facing the backrest board 12. We move the assembled parts in the direction indicated by the arrows F3, until they touch the backrest board. Then we introduce the screws 21 in the perforations 130b found in the connecting pieces 13. In this way the central part of the canapé 2 has been assembled.

In order for the chair to remain rigid for a longer period, the fixing elements can be introduced in the backrest board 12 and in the frame 10.

Now we will move on to figure 4, which presents the next stage of assembly, in which the side panels 14 are placed in front of the central part of the furniture 2.

As can be seen in Figure 4, the frame 11 is at the same level as the surfaces 14b of the side panels 14.

The side panels 14 approach the central part 2 in the direction indicated by the arrows F4 and F5.

When the side panels touch the central part 2, the screws 22, visible in Figure 4, are introduced in the perforations 130c of the connecting pieces 13 and in the perforations 14a in the lateral panels 14.

In the next stage we place the legs 17 on the surfaces 14b of the side panels, using for this purpose the fixing elements 23, which fit in the perforations 17a in the legs 17.

In Figure 4, two legs 17 can be seen in the process of being placed on the surface 14b of the side board 14 and two legs 17 placed on the surface 14b of the other side board 14 just before screwing the fasteners 23.

In figures 2 to 4, certain elements are represented without a lining to reveal their structure. However, as indicated above, it is better than the backrest board 12, the side boards 14 and the front board 15 are covered with the liner before assembly.

Once the stages shown in Figure 4 are finished, the furniture is mounted and placed on the legs

There remains only the placement of the backrest cushions 18 and the cushions 19, which should be placed by moving them in the direction indicated by arrows F6 and F7, as we can see in Figure 5.

In this way the assembly process allowed us to mount a 3-seater 3 sofa.

The preceding description demonstrates that the set of pieces of pieces 1 presented in Figure 1 may have the form of a small package, which allows to limit the space required for transport and storage.

In addition, the parts are designed in a way that allows easy assembly even by inexperienced users.

Apart from that, if any part needs to be replaced, for example the side panel 14 that constitutes the armrest, it is enough to remove the corresponding fixing elements 22, disassemble the armrest and replace with a new one.

This makes it possible to avoid replacing the entire couch, especially for the after-sales service, and considerably reduces the costs assumed by the manufacturer.

In the end, pieces 12, 14 and 15, lined before assembly, have very simple shapes, so that the fabric lining can be done using a standard procedure.

Now we will move on to figure 6 which presents the set of pieces 4, which constitutes a complement of the set of pieces 1 and serves to mount an angle couch, presented in figure 10.

This set of additional parts has two identical frames 40 and 41, whose dimensions correspond to the dimensions of the assembled furniture angle, the backrest board 42 with the length corresponding to the dimensions of the above-mentioned frames and joining pieces 13, which There are six in this case.

Similarly to the frame 10 of figure 1, the tapes 40f are nailed to the frame 40.

The set of pieces 4 additionally includes the supports 16, the front panel 45, two side panels 46 and four legs 17.

Also provided is the backrest cushion 18 and the seat cushion 19a, whose dimensions are adapted to the angle of the couch and frames 40 and 41. Now we will move on to the description of the assembly of the set of pieces 1 and 4 to form An angle couch, presented in Figure 10.

First you have to assemble some pieces of the set of pieces 1, as we see in figures 2 and 3, to get the central part 2 of the straight part of the couch.

Then we move on to mount the central part of the angle of the couch, as we see it in figures 7 and 8.

At this stage the assembly of the frames 40 and 41, of the connecting element 13 at the angle of the frames and of the support 16 is done as shown in Figure 2.

The mounting of the fasteners is done by placing the pins 20 in the holes 40a and 41a and the screws in the holes 40e and 41e.

The assembly of the central part 5 differs from the assembly of the central part 2 only in one detail: in this part two additional pairs of the pieces 16 have been introduced, which are located on the two sides of the support 16, as it represents Figure 7. For this purpose additional perforations 40a and 40e are provided in the middle of the longer sides 40c and 41c of the frames.

Figure 8 shows the assembly of frames 40 and 41 already assembled, of the eight connecting pieces 13 and of the support on the backrest board 42.

In the example presented in Figure 8, the front panel 45 and two side panels 46 have previously been mounted on frames 40 and 41.

Similarly to Figure 3, assembled frames are placed in such a way that the side of the frame 41 more distant from the frame 40 is at the level of the edge of the backrest board 42. We place the frames on the backrest board 42 following the direction indicated by arrows F3.

The screws 24 are then inserted into the holes 130b of the connecting pieces placed in front of the backrest board 42.

Once the assembly stages presented in figures 7 and 8 are finished, we obtain the central part 5 of the angle of the couch.

Figure 9 shows the next stage, in which the two central parts 2 and 5 are already assembled. For this purpose we place two central backrest boards 12 and 42 next to each other. Then we approach the two central parts following the direction indicated by arrows F8 and F9.

When the two central parts 2 and 5 have already been touched, we introduce the fixing elements 25 and 26 in the perforations 130c of the connecting parts 13. In the example presented in Figure 9 the fixing elements 25 cooperate with the elements of fixing 26.

Then we fix the side boards 14 that form the armrest of the central parts 2 and 5, as we see in Figure 4. The side boards are located on the two sides of the central parts 2 and 4 and move in the direction indicated by the arrows F4 and F5.

In the next stage, we fix two legs 17 to the armrests 14, in a manner presented in Figure 4. Two legs are also provided in the joining area between two central parts 2 and 5. In the example presented in Figure 9 two legs 17 are mounted in the central part 2. Two legs are also provided under the seat of the central part 5, on the side opposite the backrest board 14. The leg fixing elements have the number 23, as in the figure Four.

In figure 10 the last stage of the assembly has been presented, in which in the seat and in the back of the sofa we place the corresponding cushions of the seat 18 and the cushions of the backrest 19 and 19a. The way to place the cushions is indicated by arrows F6 and F7, as in Figure 5.

The angle couch 6 presented in Figure 10 is a modular couch, such as couch 3 and has the same advantages as this one.

The examples described refer to the traditional canapé and the angle canapé.

However, the invention is not limited only to these two examples. The invention generally relates to the seat of a piece of furniture formed by two frames and four connecting pieces.

The mentioned seat can be used to form a simple pouf, to which you can add the side boards, a low chair with backrest and armrests, a sofa with backrest and armrests, a sunbed with armrests or an angle cabinet with at least two seats.

In addition, the above description shows that there are very few parts of the set and that 10 can be standardized very easily, which would reduce production costs.

Apart from that, if necessary, some parts of the assembly can be supplied already partially assembled. This refers mainly to the assembly of the frames and joining pieces, if the design of the couch provides for the lined seat.

Despite partial assembly, the invention does not lose its advantages.

The numbers indicated in the technical data and in the claims serve only the best understanding of the latter and should not limit the scope of the claims.

Claims (13)

1. set of pieces of pieces intended to form a piece of furniture, composed of:

-

two identical frames (10, 11), whose dimensions correspond to the dimensions of the assembled furniture seat, suspension elements (10f) fixed to one of the two frames;

-

at least one piece chosen from the backrest board (12, 42) and side board (14) to form the armrest of the furniture. The mentioned frames and the chosen piece must have perforations for the fixing elements;

-

at least four very characteristic union pieces (13), like all the joint pieces of the assembly, because they have the same shape, are parallelepiped and at least four of their surfaces have screw holes, thanks to which the frames and the piece chosen in the joining pieces in order to form a piece of furniture.

As in claim 1, the set of pieces also includes the support (16) that must be placed under the seat in order to reinforce it.

 The set of parts, as in claims 1 or 2, includes the frames (10,11) in the form of rectangles.

Four.

 As in claims 1, 2 or 3, the set of pieces serves to form an angle couch, and further includes:

-

two additional identical frames (40, 41), suspension elements (40f) nailed to one of the frames

Additional backrest board (42), with the length corresponding to the two frames mentioned above. The frames and the board have perforations for fasteners.

 As in claim 1, the set of pieces also contains at least two backing boards for the purpose of forming the angle couch.

As in claims 1 to 5, the set of pieces contains at least one board (45, 46) in order to place it in the front part of the furniture.

As in claims 1 to 6 the set of pieces contains several legs (17).

 As in claims 1 to 7 the set of parts has at least some parts lined (12, 14, 15).

 As in claims 1 to 8, the set of parts contains seat and / or back cushions adapted to the shape of the assembled furniture.

 The assembly process of the set of parts mentioned in claims 1 to 9, to form the seat of a piece of furniture, consists of the following steps:

a) placing the connecting pieces (13) between two frames (10, 11) at least in the four angles; b) fixing the connecting pieces (13) to the two frames (10, 11) with fixing elements (20) to form the seat; c) fixing with fasteners of the connecting pieces to at least a selected part of the backrest board (12, 42) and the side board (14) to form the armrest of the furniture

 Assembly of the set of parts mentioned in claim 10, which contains at least one support, which consists, in step (a), in placing the support (16) between the two frames (10, 11).

 Assembly of the set of parts mentioned in claim 10 or 11, which serves to form an angle type sofa cabinet mentioned in claim 4, and which includes the following steps:

-

formation of the central part (2) of the couch from the frames (10, 11), such as in stages (a) and (b);

-

formation of the central part (5) of the angle of the couch from the frames (40, 41) and at least four connecting pieces (13), such as in steps (a) i (b);

-

fixing by screws (25, 26) of the two central parts (2, 5) to the connecting pieces, in order to form the central part of the angle couch.

 Assembly of the set of parts mentioned in claim 12, which includes a support (16) and two additional joining pieces (13), and consisting (in the stage of forming the central part of the angle of the couch) in the placement of the support (16) between the frames (10, 11) and two joining pieces that join the supports (16) on both sides, and then, in step (b), in the joining of said joining pieces with the support, in order to form the central part the angle of the couch.
