Joint and drive mechanism for couches, which are intended to establish the joint and corresponding movements of lifting, lowering and maintaining the limit positions of the lid (1) with respect to the base (2) of a couch, as well as allowing the stabilization of the cover (1) in various positions and with different types of inclinations in both positive and negative directions, said mechanism comprising a pair of connecting rods (3-4) articulated by its upper end to a support (5) fixed to the lower face of the cover (1), while at the other end one of the connecting rods is articulated to a broken plate (6) in turn articulated by one of its ends to the base, through a second plate (7) , the other end of the second connecting rod (4) being articulated to the complementary and free end of the broken plate (6), also including a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder (13) that collaborates in lifting the cover (1) and in the was ilization thereof, a cylinder that is articulated between the fixed support (5) of the cover and the first connecting rod (3), also including a second cylinder (14) that makes it possible to keep the cover in an over-raised horizontal position, is characterized because said second cylinder (14) is an extension cylinder and is articulated between a second plate (7) firmly fixed to the base and on which the broken plate (6) articulates in which the connecting rods articulate, establishing this second cylinder by itself the situation of blocking the cover (1) in an over-raised horizontal position; the broken plate (6) for connecting the connecting rods (3-4) having a broken configuration with two elbows (6'-6 '') being provided, in one of which (6 ') articulating one of the connecting rods, while on the other elbow (6 '') articulates the end of the rod corresponding to the second cylinder (14), whose opposite body or limb joins the second plate (7).

2. Mechanism of articulation and drive for couches, according to claim 1, characterized in that the second plate (7) fixed on each side of the base has a triangular expansion (7 ') at one of its ends, on which both the body articulate of the second cylinder as the end of the broken plate.
