Abstract

The box has a panel (9) with shutters (11, 15) at its respective ends. The shutter (11) transversally closes the end of the box. A locking unit maintains the shutter (11) in upright position. Description

Semi-rigid material case to protect and hold an oblong object inside a package.

The present invention relates to a case made of semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard for the protection and restraint of an oblong object, in particular of a bottle, inside a packaging. The invention is also refers to a pre-cut and stressed plate of a material semi-rigid, for the realization of this case.

It is usual to house in a cardboard packaging, of corrugated cardboard or similar, a single bottle, which is driven then in this packaging, to its recipient or to a place of Exhibition for sale.

During transport and handling, the bottle must be protected against external shocks that Receive the packing. In addition, it must be perfectly subject to inside of this one.

In order to respond to these demands, the Applicant already proposed, in his French patent application FR-A-2 719 563, a device made of a semi-rigid material, such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, for the protection and restraint of a bottle inside a packaging, this device comprising four panels substantially rectangular, adjacent to each other by highlighting longitudinally substantially parallel, in order to be folded around the bottle, in contact with it, to form a protective case of said bottle, this characterizing device because it includes, at each end of each of said panels, a first fin adjacent to the associated panel by at least a transverse folding line substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal folding lines, this first fin can be folded in this way against the outer face of the adjacent panel not oriented towards the bottle, to form an external thickness of this panel and thus avoid direct contact between this panel and packaging.

By providing an articulated fin at each end of the panels of the device and fold it against the outer face of this panel, that is, against the face not facing the bottle housed in the case constituted by these panels, it is made perfectly fit the bottle and its case inside the associated packaging and any direct transmission to the bottle or panels in contact with it, from bumps received by the packaging during transport operations or of manipulation

In this device, the fins arranged in the ends of the panels can be laterally adjacent each other by folding lines arranged in the extension of those by which the panels are adjacent to each other.

In a preferred embodiment described in FR-A- 2 719 563, the first fin adjacent to each of the ends of the panels is extended by a second fin, adjacent to this first fin by at least one folding line perpendicular to the folding lines longitudinal between panels, in order to be folded and pinched between the first associated fin and the outer face of the panel correspondent.

In this embodiment, the over thickness consisting of the two superimposed fins on each end of the panels, which gives a better grip of the case constituted by these panels and a better protection of the bottle housed in this case.

The second fins can be adjacent laterally to each other by folding lines arranged in the prolongation of those by which the panels are adjacent each other, while, to facilitate the assembly of the device, a cut can advantageously laterally separate the first contiguous fins.

Continuing his studies on this type of case, the Applicant contributed various improvements, looking for  in particular:

-

lock the case in mounted position, while the case described above is devoid of any means of blocking;

-

arrange at one end of the case a suitable medium to oppose the passage of the bottle it contains, when This case is manipulated in an upright position, to be inserted vertically in an open packaging in the part top, while the case described above was arranged horizontally in its packaging.

To do this, in his French patent application No. 03.13231, filed on November 12, 2003 and not published as of the date of deposit of this application, a general type case described above, intended to wrap a oblong object such as a bottle, this case being characterized because it comprises a locking means in mounted position that forms body with at least one of said panels.

This blocking means can be of any known type itself but, in one embodiment particularly simple, one leg is at least trimmed in a first panel of the case that includes a free longitudinal edge, while, in a panel adjacent to the previous one and that also includes a free longitudinal edge, a cut is made at least, intended to receive the leg of the first panel, folded towards the inside the case against the face of the panel to which it is adjacent, the shape and dimensions of the cut being such that the leg associated can be introduced only after being curved or deformed in some other way, then recovering said for its initial shape due to the relative elasticity of the cardboard, to be locked in position by the cut.

The leg and the cut can have for example the general form of a T, and the leg can in particular be articulated  on the panel from which it comes, by an outstanding parallel to those by which the panels are articulated with each other.

This lock mode is particularly advantageous since the leg and the cut intended to receive it are arranged in some panels of the case and do not consume consequently no additional amount of semi-rigid material.

In addition, the leg can be deformed manually to introduce it in the cut which means that the case lock is Particularly easy to implement.

The present invention relates to a case of the same general type, but equipped with fins suitable for sealing the ends of the case corresponding to the bottom and neck of the bottle.

The invention also wants to provide in one of these fins a clamping means in position of the neck of the bottle.

The invention finally wants to propose a case of this type suitable to fit bottles whose body and / or The neck have different diameters.

To this end, the invention aims at a case made of a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or cardboard corrugated of the general type described above, for protection and holding an oblong object, in particular a bottle in the inside a packaging, characterized in that it includes a fifth panel adjacent to one of the other four panels along a line of folding parallel to those by which these panels are articulated with each other, which fifth panel is applied against the face internal of one of the four panels arranged perpendicular to the one to which this fifth panel is adjacent, including this fifth panel:

at other end of this fifth panel a fourth fin articulated on this one by a transverse folding line, and raised perpendicular to the panel adjacent to the inside of the case, including this fourth fin a cut or beginnings of a cut intended to receive a projecting part of the packaged oblong object, in particular the neck of a bottle, a fifth being applied fin articulated on the previous one by a folding line, against the inner side of the panel opposite the fifth panel.

As a variant, the fin intended to be applied against the inner side of the panel opposite the fifth panel can include a transverse highlighting, which allows the end of this fin perpendicular to the different panels, in order to seal the corresponding end of the case.

To keep in position the third fin that seal the case at one end, a flap can be provided additional or sixth fin articulated on it by a line of cross folding and applied against the inner face of the opposite panel. In this additional fin one can be practiced or several cuts that will join with the folding line by which it is articulated on the adjacent fin, this line of folding also include a cutting line to allow this fin is deformed to fit the diameter of the bottom of the object packaged oblong.

On the opposite end of the case, the fifth fin adjacent to that in which a cut is made and that it is applied against the inner face of an opposite panel of the case, may advantageously be locked in position by a protruding tongue perpendicularly from this panel towards the inside the case.

To keep the case in assembled position, a blocking element, in particular a tongue, may advantageously being trimmed in the panel against an internal face of which the fifth panel is applied, and be articulated on the one from which it comes, by a folding line parallel to those by which the panels are articulated to each other, to in order to be folded into the case through a cut arranged in the fifth panel, and introduced after being curved or folded into a cut of smaller dimensions, practiced on the panel adjacent to the fifth panel, to stand out out of the case.

As described in the prior art mentioned above, the corrugated cardboard plate depicted in the Figure 1 comprises four identical rectangular panels 1, articulated with each other along their longitudinal edges by a parallel parallel 2, which allow folding the set of 1 panels perpendicular to each other, around a bottle not represented

At each end of the panels, a first flap 3 is pivotally mounted, around two parallel rims 4 a , 4 b , perpendicular to the rims 2. As seen in figure 1, the second fins 6 are folded against the first associated 3 fins, the fins 3 folded then against the face of the panels 1 not oriented into the case formed by these panels, to clamp fins 6 between fins 3 and panels 1.  The fins 6 thus folded associated with a panel 1 are articulated on the contiguous fins 6 and thus keep each other in position, due to the elasticity of corrugated cardboard, without any lock system.

In the embodiment shown, the fins 6 are preferably articulated with each other by lines of folding arranged in the extension of the stressed 2, while contiguous fins 3 are separated by cuts 8, intended to facilitate folding of the fins.

According to the invention, a fifth panel 9 It is articulated on one of the panels 1 by a folding line 10 parallel to those highlighted 2 and is raised perpendicular to this panel 1 to be applied against the inner face of a panel 1 next to the previous one, in the assembled position of the case.

On this panel 9, a flap 11 is articulated by a transverse folding line perpendicular to the shoulders 2 and 10 and arranged substantially at the level of lines 4 a , 4 b , this fin 11 having dimensions such that after having been lifted perpendicularly to panel 9, at least partially seal the case at the level of the bottom of the bottle intended to be packed in this case.

On the flap 11, a flap 12 is articulated by a transverse folding line, that is, perpendicular to the protrusions 2, this flap 12 being destined to be introduced into the case by the corresponding end thereof to be applied against the inner face of the panel 1 opposite panel 5 in order to block fin 11 in a transverse position. To facilitate the introduction of the flap 12 into the case, it can be divided into two parts 12 a , 12 b , by a folding line perpendicular to the raised ones 2.

As seen in FIG. 1, part 12 a may include a cutting line 13 parallel to the protrusions 2, while a cutting line 14 is arranged in the central portion of the upset by which the fin 11 and part 12 a are articulated with each other. A swaged obliquely arranged also meet the ends of the cut lines 13 and 14, all to provide the flap 12 to the possibility of deforming to accommodate funds bottles of different diameters.

At the other end of panel 9, a fin 15 that includes a cut 16 intended to receive the neck of the bottle packed in the case, it is articulated by a folding line perpendicular to the highlights 2, allowing the flap 15 to be lifted transversely inside the case.

A fin 17, articulated on fin 15 by a folding line perpendicular to the highlighted 2, is applied in the inside of the case against the inner side of the opposite panel 1 to panel 9, in order to block fin 15 in perpendicular position to panel 9. This same fin bumps against a tongue 18 that protrudes into the case from panel 1 opposite panel 9. It is clear that other means could be used for locking the fin 17, from the latter or from panel 1 opposite panel 9, to keep it in a raised position.

It will be observed that some cut lines that start of the cut 16 and that diverge towards the outside of this, allow adapt to bottlenecks of different diameters.

As depicted, fin 17 can possibly include a cross fold line 26, which delimit at its end a part of dimensions substantially equal to those of the internal section of the case, in order to be able to lift this end part perpendicularly to the part of the fin 17 applied against fin 1, to seal the end corresponding case. The part of fin 17 that seals the case can be locked by any means known in the technique, for example by a tongue of the same type as the tab 18, which protrudes into the case from of panel 1 opposite to that against which the panel is applied 9, and below which the free end of the part will be introduced with folded end of fin 17.

A tear band 20 (see figure 1) may eventually extend transversely over the panels.

To lock the case in mounted position, a leg 21, here in a T-shape, is trimmed in panel 1 against which panel 9 is applied and articulated on this panel 1 by a folding line parallel to the highlighted 2, in order to can be folded into the case through a cut 22 arranged in corresponding position on panel 9. This leg 21 is then introduced by bending or curving it in a cut 23 of smaller dimensions, to protrude out of the case and get locked in position.

The case assembly will be explained now briefly with reference to figures 2 to 7.

The fins 6 adjacent to the fins 3 are folded first against these fins 3, which also they are folded in the direction of the panels 1.

Panels 1 are then folded to fit perpendicular to each other, while simultaneously panel 9 is carried against the adjacent panel 1 to which it is not adjacent, the fins 11 and 12 are placed in their final position inside of the case, as well as fins 15 and 17 (figures 4 to 7).

The leg 21 is then folded, firstly towards the inside of the case through the cut 22 of the panel 9, then towards the outside, through the cut 23 of the panel 1 from which it comes, to lock the case in assembled position
(figure 7).

As seen in Figure 8, you can enter easily the case 24, embedded vertically inside an open packaging 25 in its upper part, in which it is housed in vertical position, without risk of the bottle contained in this Case can escape in this position.

The packaging illustrated in Figure 8 is given by way of example only and can be of any kind and contain a single bottle housed in a case conforming to the invention or a plurality of bottles housed in cases different.

In the case variant according to the invention illustrated in figures 9 and 10, in which the elements already described are designated with the same numbers of reference, a locking element of fins 3 and 6 in the folded position against the associated panel 1.

This locking element 30 has the form of an arrow, whose stem is articulated by a folding line, at its furthest end of the tip, on two panels 6 contiguous, while the tip is arranged on the plate heading between the two fins 3 associated with these fins 6 and is directed towards the cut 8, which separates these fins 3 and extends between the associated panels 1.

When fins 6 and 3 are folded against the panels 1, it is thus possible to introduce the arrowhead of the blocking element 26 in the corresponding section 8, at the end of the case assembly, deforming the lateral parts from the tip, which then recover their shape, due to the elasticity of the cardboard, thereby blocking fins 3, 6, in folded position.

1.
