Abstract

The invention relates to a safety device for miniature decorative light bulbs. Said device comprises a synthetic transparent sleeve which envelops the light bulb (1) and the end of the electric power supply cable connector. Said sleeve is moulded directly onto the light bulb and the cable or is formed from a heat-shrinkable tubular element having a given length, whereby said sleeve can protrude in front of the bulb and prevent access to live parts, when the former is broken, and envelops a sufficient amount of the length of the power supply cable to ensure that the entire unit is assembled in a solid manner. The invention can be used with strings of electric lights or luminous curtains which are used for temporary or permanent, indoor or outdoor, decorative purposes such as those traditionally used for celebrations or other events.

Description

Safety device for light bulbs in decoration miniature

The present invention aims at a safety device for miniature bulbs of decor.

It is intended for electric lamps of garlands or light curtains used to make decorations temporary or permanent, outside or inside, such like those traditionally installed for parties or others manifestations

Garlands and light curtains for Illuminations are made up of small electric lamps  dimensions arranged at regular intervals along cables of feeding and mounted directly on these.

In most cases, the device is fed from the sector voltage (usually 230 volts) by a main cable that involves some leads connected in parallel and each formed by a loop in which the lamps are mounted in series so that they are powered individually at low voltage.

These lamps are generally constituted by a glass bulb 1 containing a filament 2 whose ends cross the wall and are directly above the power cable conductors 3. The base of the bulb 1 and a portion of the cable 3 are imprisoned in a tube 4 with greater silicone frequency coated with a PVC sheath (figure one).

Current regulations impose that, on the one hand items cannot be touched under tension in case of breakage accidentally of the bulb and, on the other, that it cannot start Last without a very important effort. The device, figures 2 and 3, is constituted by a transparent or translucent sleeve 6, colored or not, of heat resistant synthetic material that encloses both the miniature bulb 1 and the end of the power cable 3 electric so that the assembly formed by the cable of Power and light bulbs.

Safety device for miniature decoration bulbs, intended for electric lamps of garlands or light curtains used for the realization of temporary or permanent, interior or exterior light decorations, such as those traditionally installed for parties or other manifestations, being these lamps mounted directly on the power supply cable (3), the bulb (1) and the ends of the cable conductors (3) being inserted in a sleeve (6) of transparent or translucent heat-resistant synthetic material, intended for prevent at the same time the access to the parts under tension when said bulb is broken and the start of it without a very important effort, characterized by the fact that said sleeve is molded on the bulb (1) and the end of the conductors of the power cable (3). 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the molded sleeve (6) is made of flexible material so that it does not split or open in case of crushing. 3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the molded sleeve (6) is made of rigid and sufficiently resistant material to prevent its crushing under the conditions of use that may occur. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises a ring (7) tight on the insulator of the power cable (3) and crimped in the molded sleeve (6). 5.
