Description

The present invention relates to an electric light string of

creative hobby.

It is intended for the realization of temporary or permanent light decorations, and in particular decorations such as those traditionally installed for parties or other events.

However, it can find many applications, for example in the field of advertising or for the animation of commercial windows.

At end-of-year parties or other events such as birthdays, it is common practice to use cards with personal messages or wishes.

There are a large number of cards for this type of event, including cards in the form of foldable tapes with messages on them. Such foldable strips are used to form garlands when they are suspended.

But these cards are sold with a unique inscription related to a particular event, for example Merry Christmas, Happy New Year or Happy Birthday.

Similarly, in the field of advertising and in particular in the decoration of showcase, it is common to use a series of cards on each of which is written a letter or a word, so that positioned side by side all the cards forms a word or phrase with a commercial purpose.

To attract the eye of the consumer, merchants rely most of the time on the graphics of each card and / or their arrangement in the window. Retailers are particularly obliged to perform complex lighting effects to highlight their messages.

The present invention aims to overcome this state of affairs including the fact that it allows to use a light string as a support for greeting cards, greetings or advertising cards, each card being interchangeable and used to formulate a number personalized messages.

Another object of the invention is to make luminous decorations extremely attractive, low cost and easy to use.

These goals are achieved by a garland of bright decoration having light sources arranged at regular intervals or not, characterized in that the light sources are arranged with means for suspending personalized or customizable cards.

In this way, each card or personalized message is illuminated by the lights of the garland.

More particularly, these objects are achieved by the fact that the means for suspending the personalized cards are located under each light source so that the cards and the messages are specially highlighted by an attractive illumination.

These goals are also achieved by the fact that the means for suspending the personalized cards allow to hang and unhook these cards very simply. Positioned side by side, cards make it easy to form a word, phrase or series of personalized messages.

Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge more clearly on reading the following description, given by way of non-limiting indication, with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 represents a light string according to the invention on which are fixed different cards; Figure 2 is a detailed view of the means used to suspend a card.

In FIG. 1, the device that is the subject of the invention consists of a single or multiple electric garland 1 (curtain for example) equipped with light sources 2 mounted on an electric cable 3 connected to a voltage source 4. Each source luminaire being arranged with a means 5 for suspending a personalized card 6.

The light sources 2 consist of miniature conventional filament bulbs 20 operating at very low voltage, typically at 6, 24 or 230 volts, for example.

They can also be formed each of several light emitting diodes (LED) emitting a different color light. These diodes can be connected to a programmer circuit integrated with each light source which varies independently over time the intensity of the light-emitting diodes as described in French Patent No. 2833687 entitled Electric Light String Light Emitting diode and deposited by the plaintiff.

Light-emitting diodes operate at very low voltage, typically at 24 volts, but also at 230 volts, making it possible to mount directly on sectors.

The light sources 2 are arranged at regular intervals, for example 10 centimeters apart, any other spacing being possible.

These light sources are connected in series on a 3 twisted electric cable forming a loop and connected to a voltage source 4.

This voltage source 4 may be a battery-powered power supply unit, a very low-voltage safety transformer mounted with a rectifier connected to the mains. The device can also be mounted directly on the mains.

The characteristics of the voltage source 4 depend on the supply voltage of the light sources and / or the type of assembly performed (single or multiple mounting to produce a light curtain).

The voltage source 4 can also be coupled with a programmer to animate the illumination of the garland.

The electric cable 3 is covered with a flexible and thin insulating sheath of the rubber or polyvinyl chloride type.

The light sources 4 are connected in series on this electric cable as shown in Figure 1. The cable 3 arrives to the bulb 20 by the strand 31 and then leaves by the strand 32 to supply the next bulb (Figure 1) . In this way, the two strands 31 and 32 form a rod at the end of which is located the bulb 20 (Figures 1 and 2).

For safety reasons, the connection between the bulb 20 and the strands 31 and 32 is covered by an insulating sleeve 21 (FIG. 2) of thermoplastic material for example.

This sleeve also makes it possible to stiffen the rod at the end of which bulb 20 is located. The sleeve is of the semi-rigid type, that is to say that the bulb can be oriented and held in position to illuminate fully. the card 6 as shown in FIG.

Between the sleeve 21 and the twisted cable 3, the strands 31 and 32 are joined by means of an insulating sheath 22 (FIG. 2) of thermoplastic material for example. The positioning of the sheath makes it possible to form a flexible ring with the strands 31 and 32 in which the means 5 will be positioned to suspend the card 6, as illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2.

The means 5 for suspending the card 6 comprises a hook 51 which is positioned in the ring formed by the strands 31 and 32 and the sheath 22. The connection between the hook and the ring leaves a certain number of degrees of freedom which makes it possible to orient the card 6 with respect to the light string 1 and thus with respect to the light sources 2 in order to obtain the desired illumination.

A means 52 for holding the card 6 is positioned at the end of the hook 51 as shown in FIG. 2. This means 6 may be a crocodile-type clip or any other equivalent means allowing easy placement and unhooking of the card 6. .

The card 6 is for example hardback, the size of a playing card and blank so that the user can register as desired inscriptions or personalized messages. Any other support can obviously be used. To change registrations or messages, simply change one or more cards.

In the exemplary embodiment described and shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the means 5 for suspending the card 6 is arranged under the light source, but the invention must be understood as covering any equivalent arrangement making it possible to obtain a similar result. and in particular any arrangement of the means 5 near the light source 2 so that the cards 6 are illuminated and specially highlighted.

The device of the invention provides a temporary or permanent lighting decoration such as that traditionally installed for parties or other events or for the animation of commercial windows.

The cards, positioned side by side, make it possible to form a word, a sentence or a series of personalized messages. For example, to form BONNE YEAR, one will use ten cards on each one of which will be written one of the letters of the message.

One can then very easily modify and at will the inscription which will be made attractive by the arrangement of the cards near the light sources.

The positioning and the combination of the various constituent elements give the object of the invention a maximum of useful and decorative effects that had not been obtained so far by similar devices.
