Abstract

Improvements to electronic equipment for controlling alternating current with an adding/subtracting compensation transformer by seminatural switching.The invention concerns rapid alternating voltage stabilisers (with a switching time of less than one half cycle of the mains) with a chopper connected to a compensation transformer to reduce slow variations in the mains supply (voltage drops, voltage surges and out of balance) and rapid disturbances (brief voltage drops and surges, flickering and harmonics).The reduction obtained in rapid fluctuations increases with the switching frequency.To apply these safely at high voltages and frequencies, the switching of the semiconductors in the changes of tapping must eliminate extreme demands for voltage, current and power.With basic Burany switching (1989), improvements are claimed by means of an input filter and switching sequences selectively regulated to the state of the load voltage and/or current, all in various configurations of the main circuit.
