Abstract

Sensor de densidad en líquidos y de interfaz entre fluidos inmiscibles. Se refiere a un dispositivo capaz de detectar el cambio de densidad en un líquido. No sólo el cambio gradual de densidad, sino también el cambio abrupto en una interfaz de dos líquidos o fluidos inmiscibles. Se caracteriza este dispositivo por la medición de la velocidad del sonido en el medio que, entre otros parámetros, depende de la densidad. Este dispositivo permite medir el cambio de densidad en diversos sistemas en tiempo real y con gran precisión, pero no da una lectura directa de la densidad salvo en sistemas muy bien definidos y mediante un calibrado previo. Debido a su reducido tamaño y bajo consumo, se puede incluir en dispositivos pequeños como las baterías de los coches.
