Abstract

Consiste en el desarrollo de un método y kit para la aplicación del mismo, que permite la selección de quistes viables de protozoos y parásitos enteropatógenos a partir de muestras biológicas complejas, como muestras fecales, agua, lodos, fertilizantes orgánicos, tierra, alimentos o cualquier otra muestra que pueda contener quistes de dichos parásitos enteropatógenos. El método consiste en la separación de los componentes de la muestra en función de su densidad relativa en un gradiente de densidad hiperosmótico, compuesto por una sal disuelta en un tampón. La centrifugación de la muestra permite la migración de las partículas a través del gradiente, separándose sus componentes en función de su densidad relativa en dicho gradiente. Los organismos viables forman una banda que puede ser extraída para su caracterización o diagnóstico.
