Abstract
Proceso de fabricación de piezas metálicas a partir de polvos metálicos empleando resinas acrílicas termoestables como ligante. Se describe un proceso modificado de moldeo por inyección de metales (MIM), usando como ligante resinas acrílicas termoestables y como material cualquier metal o aleación susceptible de ser obtenido en forma de partículas o polvos. Este proceso consiste en varias etapas: (1) mezcla, (2) moldeo, (3) curado, (4) eliminación de ligante y (5) sinterización. El proceso de mezcla se realiza a temperatura ambiente y durante el moldeo se produce el curado de la resina a temperaturas moderadas. La eliminación del ligante se realiza en atmósfera de argón y aire, y la sinterización se lleva a cabo en atmósfera reductora ( vacío, hidrógeno o mezcla nitrógeno-hidrógeno). Las piezas obtenidas mediante este procedimiento presentan altas densidades y características equivalentes a las obtenidas por el proceso MIM convencional, lo que hace que este proceso de fabricación pueda competir en los sectores de la industria en los que se utiliza actualmente el proceso MIM convencional.Manufacturing process of metal parts from metal powders using thermostable acrylic resins as a binder. A modified metal injection molding (MIM) process is described, using as thermostable acrylic resins as a binder and as a material any metal or alloy capable of being obtained in the form of particles or powders. This process consists of several stages: (1) mixing, (2) molding, (3) curing, (4) binder removal and (5) sintering. The mixing process is carried out at room temperature and during molding the resin is cured at moderate temperatures. The removal of the binder is carried out under an argon and air atmosphere, and sintering is carried out under a reducing atmosphere (vacuum, hydrogen or nitrogen-hydrogen mixture). The parts obtained by this procedure have high densities and characteristics equivalent to those obtained by the conventional MIM process, which makes this manufacturing process can compete in the industry sectors in which the conventional MIM process is currently used.
