Abstract

PURPOSE:To readily obtain dense-porous complex ceramic having firm bond interface, by molding ceramic powder into a dense base material, bringing the base material into contact with slurry of the same ceramic blended with a blowing agent and a thermally decomposable organic substance, drying and burning. CONSTITUTION:Ceramic powder (e.g. calcium phosphate-based ceramic) is molded into a given shape by press molding to produce a dense base material. Separately slurry of the same ceramic is blended with a blowing agent (e.g. hydrogen peroxide) and a thermally decomposable organic substance (e.g. organic polymer beads) to produce porous base material ceramic. Then the dense base material and the porous base material slurry dried in a contact state and burnt to give dense-porous complex ceramic. The prepared complex ceramic is suitably useful as implanted materials such as artifical root of tooth or artifical bone.
