Se presenta un procedimiento para metalizar productos cerámicos que comprende impregnar una superficie cualquiera del producto, o al menos una de sus superficies, con una composición química que contenga elementos metálicos, tal como una pintura aplicada por pulverización. Así se provee a dichas superficies con una capa de conveniente espesor que las procura gran conductividad y asegura su actuación como soporte de conducción electrolítica para permitir la electrodeposición de un recubrimiento metálico que la proteja y decore.A process for metallizing ceramic products is presented which comprises impregnating any surface of the product, or at least one of its surfaces, with a chemical composition containing metallic elements, such as a spray applied paint. This provides these surfaces with a layer of convenient thickness that provides them with great conductivity and ensures their performance as an electrolytic conduction support to allow the electrodeposition of a metallic coating that protects and decorates it.
