ESTE DISPOSITIVO COMPRENDE UN TRANSFORMADOR DIFERENCIAL (1) QUE LLEVA UN TORO (2) FORMADO POR UN NUCLEO MAGNETICO, BOBINADOS PRIMARIOS FORMADOS POR LOS CONDUCTORES ACTIVOS DE LA INSTALACION Y UN BOBINADO SECUNDARIO (3) EN CUYOS TERMINALES SE ESTABLECE UNA SEÑAL DE DEFECTO DIFERENCIAL AL APARECER UN DEFECTO DIFERENCIAL EN LOS BOBINADOS PRIMARIOS, UN RELE DE DISPARO (4) DE UN APARATO DE CORTE DE LA CORRIENTE, Y UN CIRCUITO SECUNDARIO DE CONEXION (5) DEL RELE (4) A LOS TERMINALES DE BOBINADO SECUNDARIO, ESTANDO DICHO CIRCUITO (5) DISPUESTO PARA PROVOCAR EL DISPARO CUANDO DICHA SEÑAL SOBREPASA UN UMBRAL PREDETERMINADO.
