Abstract

The production of a biotransformed E. coli recombinant acid comprises using mutants of Pseudomonas putida bacteria and an E. coli recombinant strain incorporating genes isolated from P. putida. The product is 2-hydroxyphenyl acetic acid, obtained from phenylacetic acid. The isolated genes codify the enzymes responsible for the biotransformation.
