Abstract

A biological degradation process for pig or cattle liquid residues (P) has two physical-chemical treatments (1,9) at the start and end. The liquid is treated in a biological reactor (2) with two anoxic-anaerobic bodies (A,B) with support elements (S) for bacteria which are permanently immersed. Specific bacteria are obtained and the sludge is thickened (6) and put into a mixed reactor. An Independent claim is included for an anoxic and/or aerobic reactor for depuration of waste water and/or liquid residues with high contaminant and/or toxic load concentrations, comprising open enclosure through which the waste is passed. The enclosure contains support elements for fixation of the bacteria and these are kept completely immersed in the liquid, allowing the action of the air or oxygen propelled from the bottom of the enclosure when operating aerobically, and allowing the action of the circulation means when operating anoxically. Preferred Features: The liquid manure is subjected to a pre-treatment of aerofloating with the addition of a coagulant and/or flocculant. Unidirectional internal circulation between the two bodies of the reactor is established. The internal flow in one body is anoxic-aerobic and anoxic-anoxic, and in the other body the flow is aerobic-anoxic and aerobic-aerobic. The influx feed to the mixed reactor is at the mid-point of the internal circulation in both directions. The third auxiliary reactor with internal bacterial supports carries out an adjustment of the dumping parameters. The biomass is inoculated from the mixed reactor into an auxiliary reactor to maintain the stable biomass. The third auxiliary reactor works anoxically and aerobically in sequence. The specific bacteria consortia are obtained for the degradation of the liquid manure. The support elements have open fabric pieces positioned vertically to create corridors to facilitate laminar flow and the formation of biofilms on both sides of the fabric. The fabric is plastic material, preferably of mixed gauze type. The lower ends of the fabric pieces are spaced from the bottom of the enclosure to allow air or oxygen distribution. The support elements are corrugated plastic tubes which partially fill the perforated cages, which facilitate the liquid flow and the bacterial growth. The cages are piled, while maintaining a space at the bottom for the distribution of the air or oxygen. The system is for the treatment of (a) cattle or pig liquid manure, (b) liquid residues from a dump site leaching, and (c) urban waste water.
