Abstract

Automatic device for supplying and mounting rivets. This type of rivet is formed by a screw (2) that is placed on the same manoeuvring drill gear as the plates to be joined with the aid of a positioning arm screwing on to the end of this screw (2) the nut (1) or female part of the rivet, which accesses through the bottom part of the sheets to be joined using an applicator (7), which replaces the anvil of an automatic riveter. The nuts (1) are contained in a storage bin (3) from which they are fed to a positioning element (6) which places them in the correct fitting position since due to their asymmetrical configuration they can be delivered in any of the two possible 180 degree rotation positions. The nuts (1) have a stepped cylinder portion and another end with a hexagonal configuration. The threaded area (11) is in an off-centre position. Using a detector cylinder (20) a discriminatory signal is sent to some blowers (22) which divert the analysed nut (1) to one of the right-hand or left-hand chutes (21), which it leaves in the correct position to be mounted on the screw (2). The applicator (7) is formed by a tightening element (31) with a hexagonal axial vacuum connected to a pneumatic motor. The alignment of the nuts (1) reaches the end of the sheet press (35) and the first one is threaded into the screw (2) until the disposable hexagonal end is broken.<IMAGE>
