Abstract
Especially intended for elevators whose traction mechanism 9 is located at a lower level, the improvements consist in providing a plant room 15 of reduced height, which is semi-buried, laterally with respect to the trench 11 which finishes the shaft 1 of the elevator at the bottom, and with the same depth as said trench, this plant room 15 having an access door 16 located on its imaginary roof, in such a manner that the said door, in addition to acting as such, normally constitutes the floor of the passage providing access to the door 3 of the elevator, on the lower extreme storey thereof, whilst, when said door 16 is raised, during maintenance or repair operations, the height of the plant room 15 extends as far as the height of the aforesaid passage, and the control panel 17 is directly accessible, from a position of standing on the bottom of said room, being fixed to the inner face of the door 16 and rocking with it during the opening manoeuvre.
