SE PRESENTA UN METODO PARA DETERMINAR LA UTILIZACION DE UN REACTIVO EN EL LADO DEL ANODO O EN EL LADO DEL CATODO DE UNA PILA DE COMBUSTIBLE. PARA ESTE EXTREMO SE APLICA UN FLUJO BAJO CON UNA ALTA UTILIZACION EN EL LADO A SER MEDIDO Y SE APLICA UN FLUJO APRECIABLE CON UNA BAJA UTILIZACION EN EL OTRO LADO. SE COMPILA UNA TABLA EN LA CUAL SE INCORPORA LA RELACION ENTRE LA TENSION DE NEMST BAJO LAS CONDICIONES DE SALIDA, TALES COMO LA TEMPERATURA, Y LA UTILIZACION DEL REACTIVO A MEDIR. ENTONCES SE MIDE LA TENSION DE LA PILA EN LA SALIDA Y SE IGUALA CON LA TENSION DE NEMST. PUEDE UTILIZARSE LA UTILIZACION A PARTIR DE LA TABLA.
