Abstract
Spectral decomposition method using liquid scintillation spectrometers for radionuclide mixtures. The decomposition of complex radionuclide mixtures is based on the expansion, interpellation and compaction of spectral functions. A new method of converting scales from linear to logarithmic is incorporated, necessary for the generalization of the procedure to any type of liquid scintillation spectrometer. This system is applicable in the evaluation of the channel / energy ratio of the spectrometer from pure beta nuclides. It is applicable to both samples of known composition and samples of unknown composition. It is, therefore, of general interest in industries engaged in the construction of liquid scintillation nuclear equipment, and in particular in environmental monitoring near industrial facilities where radionuclides are used or produced, such as nuclear power plants.
