Abstract

The method involves manufacturing connectors (10) and spacers (19) in a single operation and uses connectors formed by injection moulding. Connector elements and adhesion elements are provided within the cassette, and spacer elements are formed at the same time as the connector elements. After moulding, at least part of the link between the connector elements and the spacer elements is broken. The spacers are then introduced into the cavities (12) up to a pre-assembly position. The spacers are then inserted totally within the cavities, and the male or female terminals are immobilised in position. The breakage of the links between parts of the assembly may be achieved using a hydraulically or pneumatically operated piston, acting on the upper part of the spacers.
