Abstract

The composition is an aqueous suspension which contains substantially 10-50 % by weight of a hydrated magnesic silicate, with a minimum sepiolite purity of 60 %, the remainder 50-90 % consisting essentially of water, optionally including from 0.1 to 20 % by weight of surfactant products, sequestering agents and/or natural organic fibres. It may also be obtained in the form of flowing powder containing 50-95 % of the hydrated magnesic silicate, the remainder 5-50 % by weight consisting of surfactants, sequestering agents and/or natural organic fibres. The process for the preparation of said composition involves the dissolution or dispersion in water, in stirring conditions, of the sequestering agents in the first place, of the natural organic fibres in the second place, of the surfactants in the third place, and finally of the sepiolite or the mixture of the products in solid form.
