ESTE INVENTO OFRECE UN PROCESO MEJORADO PARA PREPARAR UNA RESINA ALTAMENTE ABSORBENTE DE AGUA CON UN PODER DE SUCCION SUPERIOR Y RESISTENCIA DE GEL EXCELENTE, QUE COMPRENDE: (1) DESHIDRATAR UN POLIMERO, QUE SE PREPARA NEUTRALIZANDO PARCIALMENTE MONOMEROS O POLIMEROS QUE CONTIENEN UN GRUPO CARBOXILO O CARBOXILATO Y POLIMERIZANDOLOS, UTILIZANDO UN METODO DE DESTILACION AZEOTROPICA EN PRESENCIA DE UN DISOLVENTE LIPOFILICO; (2) DEGRADANDO EL POLIMERO DESHIDRATADO EN PRESENCIA DE UN AGENTE DEGRADANTE HIDROFILICO Y DESHIDRATANDO EL POLIMERO DEGRADADO UTILIZANDO UN METODO DE DESTILACION AZEOTROPICA; Y (3) FILTRANDO Y SECANDO LOS PRODUCTOS DE LA REACCION PARA RECUPERAR EL POLIMERO DEGRADADO, DONDE LA MEJORA COMPRENDE: (A) EN EL PASO (1), EL POLIMERO SE DESHIDRATA HASTA QUE POSEA UNA CANTIDAD DE AGUA DE 25% EN PESO O MENOR BASADO EN EL PESO DEL POLIMERO; Y (B) EN EL PASO (2), EL AGUA SE UTILIZA PARA PENETRAR EL AGENTE DEGRADANTE HIDROFILICO EN EL INTERIOR DE LA PARTICULA EN UNA CANTIDAD QUE OSCILA ENTRE 7% Y 25% EN PESO BASADO EN EL PESO DEL POLIMERO, PARA EL PROCESO DE DEGRADACION Y UNA CANTIDAD DE 60% EN PESO O MAYOR BASADO EN LA CANTIDAD AÑADIDA DE AGUA SE ELIMINA DEL POLIMERO DEGRADADO DURANTE EL PROCESO DE DESHIDRATACION.
