Abstract

Improvements in paving incorporating a compressed ballast (shingle) base on which there is a base layer of conglomerate and a carpet, also of conglomerate and both this and the previous one composed of road metal (aggregates) and bitumen, a layer of ground glass being arranged on the upper layer of conglomerate, in which layer of glass the portions reach approximately half a centimetre in diameter, the glass layer undergoing a rolling (tamping) process which gives rise to the partial embedding (encrustation) of the portions of glass in the conglomerate. These improvements make it possible to increase the luminosity of the paving on receiving the rays of a light source and its application can extend to all types of paving.
