Abstract

A disk cartridge 100 which carries a disk medium 160 comprising a flat case 101, a tray 130 having a concave portion 131 for accommodating the disk 160 and which is inserted into the case 101 along the direction Y'. A locking means 134 - 136 is provided on the upper surface of the tray which engages with the tray locking holes 112, locking the tray 130 in position in the case 101. The tray 130 is inserted into the case 101 in a direction Y' perpendicular to the direction X' along which the cartridge 100 is inserted into a disk drive.
