CONTIENE DOS FILTROS ACTIVOS REALIZADOS MEDIANTE CONVERTIDORES ELECTRONICOS CON INTERRUPTORES ESTATICOS CONMUTADOS EN ALTA FRECUENCIA Y ELEMENTOS REACTIVOS (CONDENSADORES Y BOBINAS). UNO DE ELLOS ESTA DEDICADO A LA CORRECCION DE LAS PERTURBACIONES DE TENSION ORIGINADAS EN LA RED. EL OTRO, A LA REDUCCION DE LOS ARMONICOS DE INTENSIDAD SOLICITADOS POR LA INSTALACION DEL CLIENTE. AMBOS SE HALLAN INTERCONECTADOS ELECTRICAMENTE MEDIANTE LA PROPIA LINEA Y UNAS BARRAS DE CORRIENTE CONTINUA A LAS QUE HAY CONECTADO UN ELEMENTO ALMACENADOR DE ENERGIA (CONDENSADOR O BATERIA). EN CASO DE FALLO DE RED, DOS INTERRUPTORES ESTATICOS AISLAN EL EQUIPO DE LA RED Y DE LA PARTE DE LA CARGA MENOS CRITICA, MIENTRAS QUE EL CONVERTIDOR FILTRO DE CORRIENTE RECONFIGURA SU ESTRATEGIA DE FUNCIONAMIENTO Y PASA A FUNCIONAR COMO SISTEMA DE ALIMENTACION ININTERRUMPIDA (S.A.I.), PARA LA PARTE MAS CRITICA DE LA CARGA, ALIMENTADO POR EL ELEMENTO ALMACENADOR. ESTE VUELVE A CARGARSE DURANTE EL FUNCIONAMIENTO NORMAL, ES DECIR, CON RED PRESENTE.
