Abstract
Method for condensing metal vapors (from a gas stream containing them) characterized by comprising ascending the gas through a mass of liquid metal enclosed in a limited passage between a lower free surface of the liquid metal and a free upper surface of the liquid. Said liquid metal in order to realize the condensation of the metallic vapors only in contact with the liquid metal and with surfaces energetically swept by it and to carry out a generally upward transport of metal in said limited passage; withdrawing a portion of the metal from the upper region of said limited passage and returning at least a portion thereof after passing through a cooling zone exterior to said passage to the lower portion of the limited passage using the energy created by said upward transport.
