Abstract

Device for tracking moving bodies by means of ultrasound. Each mobile element to be tracked has an ultrasound pulse transmitter 2 combined with a repetitive pulse generator 1. The ultrasound pulses 3 arrive at a set of several ultrasound receivers 5, 6 and 7 combined with a repetitive pulse generator 4 similar to that of the mobile transmitters. The basic system has a programmable device 12 that controls the operation of the system and that receives data from the sensors and the repetitive pulse generator associated with them via their digital inputs 8, 9, 10 and 11. The set of repetitive pulse generators are synchronized. On receiving an ultrasound pulse at the sensors, taking into account the actual instant in the repetitive cycle, it knows the actual position of the transmitter in space.
