EL NUEVO PROCEDIMIENTO DE AFINADO DEBERA PERMITIR QUE SE OBTENGAN MASAS FUNDIDAS OXIDICAS CON ALTOS GRADOS DE AUSENCIA DE GAS EXTRAÑO Y AL MISMO TIEMPO QUE SE EVITE EL EMPLEO DE PRODUCTOS QUIMICOS AFINANTES PELIGROSOS PARA EL MEDIO AMBIENTE O SE RESTRINJA CLARAMENTE SU EMPLEO. PARA ELLO SE HA PREVISTO QUE SEA GENERADO ELECTROQUIMICAMENTE OXIGENO EN CALIDAD DE GAS AFINANTE Y QUE SE PROPORCIONEN AL MENOS DOS ELECTRODOS, A SABER, UN ELECTRODO DE AFINADO Y UN CONTRAELECTRODO QUE ESTAN AMBOS EN CONTACTO AL MENOS EN PARTE CON LA MASA FUNDIDA OXIDICA, SE APLICA UNA TENSION ELECTRICA A LOS DOS ELECTRODOS Y SE PRODUCE OXIGENO EN UNO DE LOS DOS ELECTRODOS COMO GAS AFINANTE PARA LA ELIMINACION DE GASES EXTRAÑOS DE LA MASA FUNDIDA OXIDICA.
