EL REACTOR PUEDE CONTENER EN SU INTERIOR UN MATERIAL INERTE POROSO QUE ACTUA COMO COLECTOR DEL POLVO DE SI3N4 PRODUCIDO. ALTERNATIVAMENTE, EL REACTOR PUEDE FUNCIONAR COMO UN LECHO FIJO O FLUIDIZADO PARA RECOGER EL POLVO. THE SYNTHESIS OF SILICON NITRIDE (SI3N4) IN THE FORM OF DUST IS CARRIED OUT BY CVD BY REACTION BETWEEN AMMONIA AND A PRECURSOR COMPONENT OF SILICON IN A TUBULAR REACTOR AT TEMPERATURES LOWER THAN 1,200 C. POROUS INERT WHICH ACTUATES AS A COLLECTOR OF THE PRODUCED SI3N4 DUST. ALTERNATIVELY, THE REACTOR MAY FUNCTION AS A FIXED OR FLUIDIZED BED TO COLLECT DUST. THE COLLECTOR OR PARTICLES OF THE BED MAY BE SUBJECTED TO COMBUSTION IN AN OXIDIZING ATMOSPHERE TO OBTAIN THE DUST FROM SI3N4 (AMORPH) AND MAY BE CALCINATED THEN TO BE OBTAINED {AL-SI3N4. PLANTING IN THE COLLECTOR OR IN THE PARTICLE BED OF {AL-SI3N4 ALLOWS TO OBTAIN DIRECTLY SILICON NITRIDE POWDER WITH A {AL-SI3N4 STRUCTURE. SI3N4 CAN BE USED TO OBTAIN ADVANCED CERAMIC MATERIALS.
