DICHOS IMPLANTES SE CONFORMAN A PARTIR DE LA MEZCLA EN POLVO DE SUS COMPONENTES POR PRENSADO ISOSTATICO A TEMPERATURA AMBIENTE, A PRESIONES DE 50 A 300 MPA. LOS IMPLANTES SE UTILIZAN PARA COMBATIR INFECCIONES EN CAVIDADES OSEAS IN SITU, CUMPLIENDO DOS FUNCIONES: 1) INDUCE LA CREACION DE HUESO NUEVO, POR EFECTO DE LA BIOACTIVIDAD DEL COMPONENTE CERAMICO. 2) LIBERA DE FORMA SOSTENIDA EL ANTIBIOTICO ATACANDO LA INFECCION DE FORMA LOCAL.PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING IMPLANTABLE BIOMATERIALS COMPOSED OF CERAMICS AND ANTIBIOTICS; BIPHASICS, HYDROXIAPATITE COMPOUNDS, OR OTHER BIOACTIVE CERAMIC MATERIAL, AND AN ANTIBIOTIC, THIS LAST IN PERCENTAGES OF UP TO 5% OF THE TOTAL MASS. SUCH IMPLANTS ARE CONFORMED FROM THE POWDER MIXTURE OF THEIR COMPONENTS BY ISOSTATIC PRESSING AT ROOM TEMPERATURE, AT PRESSURES OF 50 TO 300 MPA. THE IMPLANTS ARE USED TO FIGHT INFECTIONS IN BONE CAVITIES IN SITU, FULFILLING TWO FUNCTIONS: 1) IT INDUCES THE CREATION OF NEW BONE, BY EFFECT OF THE BIOACTIVITY OF THE CERAMIC COMPONENT. 2) RELEASE THE ANTIBIOTIC IN A SUSTAINED WAY ATTACKING THE INFECTION LOCALLY.
