SE CARACTERIZA PORQUE COMPRENDE; A) UNA LIXIVIACION ACUOSA DE LAS MATERIAS PRIMAS Y SEPARACION DE IMPUREZAS NO DISUELTAS, MEDIANTE DECANTACION, FILTRACION O CENTRIFUGACION; B) UNA CARBONATACION EN UNA O DOS ETAPAS DE LA DISOLUCION ASI OBTENIDA CON UN GAS QUE CONTENGA DIOXIDO DE CARBONO, EN PRESENCIA DE ADITIVO ADECUADO PARA CONTROLAR EL TAMAÑO DE PARTICULA DE PRECIPITADO RESULTANTE.
