Abstract

The electric motor 7 has a stator 8 with at least eight poles 9 and a rotor shaft torsionally coupled directly to the engine drive pin ion (30, Fig. 1). The motor and the pinion projecting electromagnet 18, 20, 21 are enclosed in a protective casing 2, 3 of non-magnetic material, e.g. aluminium, aluminium alloy or thermosetting or heat- shrinkable plastics.
