Abstract

This invention has the title of Procedure for the manufacture of plates and sheets for thin-film chromatography. Thin-film chromatography is a simple, economic, rapid and accurate method of chemical analysis. The plates and sheets for chromatography are constituted by an adsorbent material fixed on a support by means of a binder. This invention permits effecting better chemical analyses using the said technique, whose applications lie in medicine, pharmaceutical industry, research, biology, toxicology, etc. By means of this invention the chromatographic properties of the current plates and sheets are improved without diminishing their physical properties of adherence and abrasion resistance. This invention is based on new methods for the preparation of the mixture of adsorbent material + binder and in carrying out the subsequent thermal treatments, in which polyvinyl acetate is used as binder.
