Abstract
The device for the purification of polluted water comprises a laser of sufficient energy to destroy the pollution and emit infrared radiation at a wavelength of 10.6 μm. To avoid the heating produced by a percentage of the radiation absorbed by the air, it is combined with a generally metal tube, with openings, which in turn may have a Zn Se film on its inside. The said tube has a divergent germanium lens at its end which extends or spreads the beam over the medium which is to be purified. This fundamental part of the device is mounted on a crane which can cause it to rotate and move in order to sweep the polluted medium with radiation.
