SE DESCRIBE UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA EL TRATAMIENTO TERMICO DE PIEZAS DE TRABAJO METALICAS EN UN HORNO CONTINUO CALENTADO POR GAS, BAJO LA INFLUENCIA DE ATMOSFERA GASIFICADA, FORMADA ESENCIALMENTE POR NITROGENO, HIDROGENO Y MONOXIDO DE CARBONO. CON EL FIN DE RENTABILIZAR ESTE PROCEDIMIENTO MEDIANTE EL AHORRO DE GAS, SE PROPONE QUE LA ATMOSFERA GASIFICADA A BASE DE UN GAS DE TRATAMIENTO, CONTENIENDO NITROGENO, HIDROGENO Y MONOXIDO DE CARBONO, SEA APORTADO AL HORNO CONTINUO EN EL AMBITO DE SU ZONA CALIENTE, Y QUE ANTES DE SU INMEDIATA ENTRADA EN EL HORNO CONTINUO, SE GENERE POR TRANSFORMACION CATALITICA UN GAS, CONTENIENDO HIDROCARBUROS Y AIRE, Y PARA FORMAR NITROGENO, QUE ES APORTADO AL HORNO CONTINUO POR AMBAS PARTES DEL PUNTO DE ALIMENTACION PARA EL GAS DE TRATAMIENTO, ENTRE LA ENTRADA AL HORNO Y ZONA CALIENTE, ASI COMO ENTRE LA ZONA CALIENTE Y SALIDA DEL HORNO.
