SE OBTIENEN AHORA SOLUCIONES MAS ESTABLES OXIDANDO SULFATO FERROSO CON ACIDO NITRICO Y ACIDO SULFURICO SEGUIDO DEL TRATAMIENTO CON UN PEROXIDO. LOS PRODUCTOS ESTAN EXENTOS DE IONES FERROSOS Y PUEDEN TENER UN INTERVALO DEL CONTENIDO DE ACIDO LIBRE AL TIEMPO QUE PERMANECEN ESTABLES. PARTICULARMENTE UTIL COMO PEROXIDO ES PEROXIDO DE HIDROGENO.PROCEDURE FOR PRODUCING AN AQUEOUS FERRIC SULPHATE SOLUTION THAT TENDS TO BE UNSTABLE WHEN SUBMITTED TO LOW TEMPERATURES. MORE STABLE SOLUTIONS ARE NOW OBTAINED BY OXIDIZING FERROUS SULPHATE WITH NITRIC ACID AND SULFURIC ACID FOLLOWING TREATMENT WITH A PEROXIDE. THE PRODUCTS ARE FREE OF FERROUS IONS AND MAY HAVE A RANGE OF FREE ACID CONTENT WHILE THEY REMAIN STABLE. PARTICULARLY USEFUL AS PEROXIDE IS HYDROGEN PEROXIDE.
