SEGUN LA INVENCION, SE HACE CIRCULAR UN SOLIDO PULVERULENTO ESENCIALMENTE DESDE LA BASE DE UN RECINTO (1) EN UN CAMBIADOR DE CALOR (6) QUE CONSTA DE UNA MEMBRANA INTERNA DE SEPARACION (22) QUE DEFINE DOS COMPARTIMENTOS (23, 24) ALARGADOS Y CONTIGUOS QUE SE COMUNICAN POR SU PARTE INFERIOR. EN EL COMPARTIMENTO DONDE SE DERRAMA EN DESCENSO EL SOLIDO PULVERULENTO, LA VELOCIDAD DE FLUIDIZACION ESTA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 0,1 CM Y 2 M/S, MIENTRAS QUE EN EL COMPARTIMENTO DONDE SE EFECTUA LA SUBIDA DEL SOLIDO PULVERULENTO EN EL CAMBIADOR DE CALOR (6), LA VELOCIDAD DE FLUIDIZACION ESTA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 0,1 Y 6 M/S. APLICACION ESPECIALMENTE A LAS REACCIONES DE REFINO (REFORMADO CATALITICO POR EJEMPLO) O A LA REGENERACION DE UN CATALIZADOR DE CRAQUEO CATALITICO EN LECHO FLUIDIZADO DE UNA CARGA PETROLIFERA, O A LA COMBUSTION DEL CARBON.
