Abstract
A rail coupling apparatus comprising a rear shock absorber unit intended to be mounted between the rear stop legs of a bag of coupling apparatus and the rear end of an associated yoke of a coupling apparatus a front shock absorber unit intended to be supported by said yoke and maintained under initial compression between front and rear supports thereof and a follower interposed between said front shock absorber unit and the front support of the yoke said follower having portions in engagement with the front stop feet of the hitching apparatus bag said unit being rear shock absorber mounted under initial compression to push said follower into intimate application with said front stop legs said front and rear shock units being arranged such that both units are compressed in stop and in traction only said front unit is compressed.
