Abstract

An abrasive disc of the type comprising a thin flexible or stiff disc-shaped support (1), having a central zone (2) which is generally circular and provided with means (3) for attaching the driving device, and an abrasive annular zone (4) generally extending between the said central zone and the outer edge of the disc and provided with a number of grooves (5) which may or may not be covered with abrasive material, intended to cool the disc and to remove dust and particles created by its operation. The cooling of the disc, the removal of the extracted materials and the efficiency of the abrasive surface use a combination of two types of groove: - the first (5) connecting the inner edge of the abrasive annular zone to its outer edge, i.e. crossing it from one side to the other - the second (6) opening only on to the outer edge of the abrasive annular zone, i.e. with a blind end.
