Abstract
Electrochemical measuring method of the rate of corrosion of reinforcing in concrete structures, sensors and apparatus for putting the said method into practice. The method consists of obtaining the rate of corrosion by means of the use of direct current and taking into account the area of the reinforcing actually affected by the signal. The signal is applied to the reinforcing by means of an annular counterelectrode 4, controlled by a main reference electrode 5 located within it, there being involved in the measurement: a) a series of reference electrodes 7, 8, 9 or b) two concentric counterelectrodes 10, 11, or c) two reference electrodes 13, 14 and a concentric annular counterelectrode 12. The true bias resistance is obtained from the apparent value corrected with the value of the critical length or the coefficient of attenuation of the signal, or by extrapolation of the values obtained with electrodes of increasing size, confinement of the electric signal in a given space. The practical execution of the methodology described is made possible by means of a corrosion meter 6 developed for the invention advocated.
