Abstract

The airtight joint covering (1) for telecommunication cables and, in particular, for optical fibre containing cables (3) is capable of reaching the required airtightness without the aid of putties and/or miscellaneous sealants. The airtightness is secured thanks to a sealing gasket (12) which, for each cable (3) entering and/or exiting the joint covering (1), comprises a material lacuna (14), which gets flattened when the cable (3) is slit into the interior of the relevant through bore (13) provided on the same gasket (12).
