Abstract
The composition comprises at least one reducing compound chosen from tungsten and molybdenum and at least one oxidising compound chosen from alkali metal chlorates and perchlorates, preferably potassium perchlorate. The quantity of oxidising agent is smaller than 5% of the total weight of the composition. The latter also contains an additional reducing agent which has a melting temperature higher than the combustion temperature of the composition and preferably chosen from manganese, nickel and silicon. Such a composition can be used as a delay in detonators intended for mines subject to firedamp.
