Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus for moulding around the edges of blanks (3) in sheet form, having a one-part mould (2) of rubber, the free legs (2a, 2b) of which receive between them the edges of the blank (3), the mould (2) being surrounded by a divided mould box (1, 7), the parts of which support the mould (2) from below, at the outer periphery and from above. To avoid irregularities on the end product in the transitional region between the blank (3) and the moulded-on edge, the invention proposes that there should be provided on the outer side of the mould (2), in the region of its free legs (2a, 2b) between the mould (2) and the mould box (1, 7), expansion spaces (8, 9) which lie opposite the cavity (4) to be filled and the volume of which is at least as great as the volume displaced during the pressing together of the outer ends of the legs (2a, 2b) of the mould (2) in the direction of the cavity (4) to be filled.
